Alyana nods at Taliea suggestion "Good idea sister. I think you should take the lead to see if you using your tracking skill to find any clue. I will close the march ... "

Lone Wolf eases off his mount and, with a few whispered words and a gentle touch, the man ties the reins to a nearby tree or bush, allowing the horse to graze.

Kerraur frowns at the presence of the horse and shakes his head.
"If my help is required, I need not to be hired. The vow I took, though, forces me to decline these horses. I will things buy or borrow nor this day nor tomorrow. Nor will the trip retarded be while these folks, discarded, wait for us while we tarry. Could one yours me carry?"
He looks about the group. On their way there, the poet tells them a story, not about this road, but about a very similar one that led to place where beauty flourished, tended to by beautiful creatures that would seem fantastic even to adventurers used to odd things, and how the beauty wilted and was restored.

Having tied up the horses, the adventurers continue on foot. Approaching the deserted town, all is quiet.
As instructed by Alyana, Taliea takes the lead looking for clues. "There's no recent tracks," the Ranger tells the group as she crouches down to study the ground. "Looks like no-one's been around here for several months, not humanoid creatures anyway. A few animal tracks here and there though," she continues as she walks on towards the town.
Walking further into the town, you see that it consists mostly of small houses built from timber with some of the larger buildings, such as the inn and what appears to be a town hall constructed from stone. The doors hang open on most of the buildings and many of the windows are broken.
Taliea's search - taking 10 = 15

Alyana is starting to get a little wary at the ghost town. "I guess we should start inspecting the structure to see if we get any clue. May be a detect magic spell is in order?"

Lone Wolf stands next to Alyana, staring at the town hall, his hand on his sword. "Yes, the town hall would be the safest place and where all would turn..."

Lone Wolf and Alyana go ahead, leading the group towards the Town Hall. Taliea, Avantiif and Theodorre follow. Alyana suggests using a detect magic spell, but no-one seems to take her up on the offer. The wooden door to the modest town hall is one of the many that hangs open. It is a relatively modest building as the town itself is pretty small. Most of the structure is large stone building bricks. Heading inside you see that it would have been more functional during its time of operation, rather than lavish. A simple desk and an upturned chair are inside the doorway, where possibly a receptionist would once have sat. Dust is collecting on the furnishings. There is a doorway on the opposite wall and another two, one off to your right and one to the left. All three are open slightly, but not fully. You'll need to get closer to see more...

Lone Wolf looks at the door. "People close doors. Animals nudge them open. No one leaves them like that..."

Alyana looks at the door too. YOu are right Lone Wolf. Something strange has happened here. But we knew that. An entire population just does not disappear. .
She slowly walk to the nearest door and push it open with her mace.

Lone Wolf mumbles, too late as Alyana nudges the door open: "... unless it's a trap..."

As the door opens, Alyana gives lone wolf the cutest apologetic face which says a Oops I did it again ... type of excuse.

The somewhat elder bard approaches it, and lowers his voice a bit, although he continues his tale.

The feisty elf, Alyana, takes the lead once again, using her mace to push open the nearest door (the one on the left hand side of the room). Luckily for her, the door is not trapped as Lone Wolf suspected it might be. The door opens easily enough as she pushes it and it reveals a small room. The walls are entirely covered from top to bottom in shelves, with boxes of files stacked neatly and labelled with dates and reference numbers. Still listening to Avantiif's tale, Taliea pulls one of the boxes from a shelf, dusting off the top, she flicks through the parchments. Anyone else doing so as well would notice they seem to be records of the towns citizens and other legal documents such as legislation and any legal disputes between citizens.

Alyana breathes a little better. I guess someone with roguish skills should go first. I would hate to set up a trap on us.
She looks at a few boxes to see if any label looks mindly out of the ordinary. I guess this is the administrative town hall .....

Lone Wolf frowns at the door to the library, but says nothing. He turns and looks for passages to lower levels, like a trapdoor, or stairs down. If the building is more than one story high, he looks for a way up.
