Attack on Myth Drannor - Ch 2: Outer Myth Drannor

Dra’gen, Ryxikor and Sirali take turn pulling Brandy to the Inn and Tavern as Kerraur flies there, enjoying his natural habitat. Once there, they settle down using the unoccupied girls and client room. Brandy wakes up and silently disappears in what is likely to be her room.
After a night of rest, the group gets ready and waits for Padre and Savenleyes. Ryxikor decides to prepare breakfast and is joined by Brandy. The woman is very nervous and jumped around him, yet does her work in silence.

In the middle of the morning, the door opens and Lola and the girls run into the room. The girls go give hugs and kisses to the four heroes (including Sirali) and Lola go see Brandy and give her most emotional hug one can imagine.
Padre and Savenleyes follow and sit at a table. Padre puts 4 gold bags on the table. “Here is your share of the loot. This was quite an eventful night. I thought that bringing Wintas would have been a breeze but Father Sharky was convinced I was lying and hypnotized Wintas. It is only after the captain sent some guards to the hideout to confirm my story that Father Sharky agreed to free Lola and the girls but at one condition which I will discuss in a moment.

He stops to take a big sip of the ale that a girl has put on the table with a smile. Once Wintas was able to go home,we were visited by a very grateful Mrs Warehorn. She gave us 100 gold pieces each for rescuing her son, which in the bag in addition to your share of the loot. She also said that she would reward us for bringing back the other 3 missing men.

He stops as Lola goes in the middle of the room I cannot begin to thank you enough for what you did. You risked your lives to free us. None of you knew us nor had used our services. Yet, you had no problem getting yourself hurt to prevent a bunch of prostitutes like us from being wrongly accused. I really appreciate that. Everyone cheers and drink merrely. After a while, Padre takes the group to a side room We should avoid being in the public area during business hours to avoid embarrassing the customers. I accepted because I would do anything for Lola and I realized that we did not catch the head of the operations, the hooded man called Hangarath. I bet he was the one behind Brandy’s ordeal. So I am going after him and I could use a few brothers and sisters in arms. What do you say?

Kerraur, for one, has not slept well and woken up in a worried, restless mood. After being thanked by Lola, he turns away from the window he'd been looking out of. Sitting down on the windowsill and stretching his wings out, allowing the outside air to touch them, he speaks, "You're welcome, but I'm not sure we deserve this. We're not done yet... the others are still captured and until they are no longer," he looks around the room, at the others, hesitating slightly to damage any feelings of satisfaction he might have, "We haven't won. That, at best, was a draw, and can hardly be considered a victory."

Finally, after waiting all morning, Padre and the girls walk in. Ryx is happy to accept hugs and kisses from any number of the girls, but he acts as though it was nothing, just another day of adventuring. The rogue quietly takes his purse, dropping it into his haversack without comment or counting it, it'll be counted later.

Ryxikor listens to everything Padre talks about and snorts when Sharky is mentioned, "Well, I'm up for the task." a well fed and rested Ryx states.

Dra'gen takes his share of the 100 and then he stands up and walks over to Lola and quietly says to her Here. This is for you and Brandy. You all have been through a rough ordeal and deserve it. What they did will leave a mental scar, especially on Brandy. "Dra'gen." Kerraur calls when he realizes when he notices what his friend does. Once he as captured the mindblade's attention, he just gives a nod towards his own share, assuming the message would be clear.

Padre nods at Ryxikor. I felt I could count on you, Rogue!

As Dra'gen gives her the full 100 gold pieces he got from Mrs. Warehorn, Lola is in shock, mouth wide open. Then she gives him a big hug and big kiss on the cheek. Thank you so much. This will help immensely. Padre can help Brandy's body but her emotional scars will take a long, long time.

As Kerraur expresses his generosity, Lola approaches him " I have never met any of your kind but if they are all as honorable as you, you are truly a good and great race. She gives him a long kiss on the cheek while caressing his feathers on his head.

After that she gets up and go help Brandy.

Kerraur, who had hoped not to attract too much attention by being so laconic about the thing, is at first not entirely certain how to react, but then summons a modest smile to his face, and with a nod answers, "We do what we can."

Taking his meaning, Dra'gen grabs teh bag holding his friends share as well and hands it to Lola. After she hugs him and thanks him, he smiles and says I sincerely hope Brandy recovers emotionally. I know you and the other women will take care of her. I agree, it will take a long time. Nobody should have to endure what she has. We are not yet done, but at least we got her out in time. Hopefully we can get to the other men in time.

After that, he goes and sits next to his friend Kerraur and says That felt good. They'll need it. We still have to go back.

Once it seems the thanks you's and hugs and kisses are over, Ryx speaks up, "So are we all ready to go exploring and look for the other men?"

He checks his gear one last time, having already cleaned everything good that morning, puts his black foppish hat on and gets up, looking to the others.

Feeling better about the situation, the 6 heroes decide to go back to the hide out. When they arrive, they can see the mess that the city guards did looking for clues. Everything is on the ground or broken. The positive is that the bodies have been disposed off. There is no sign of the two soldiers who escaped.

The group stand in from of the 8-foot-wide circular area which is carved to show a swirling cloudlike border, within which is a splendid city within a great forest. An iron brazier stands near it with a 1-foot-wide bowl containing salt. There is a lot of salt at the foot of the carved area.

Padre looks at the group. Hangarath went does the stairs and never came back and yet he is nowhere to be seen. The guards were left to guard something. Question is what? And where did Hangarath go? and where did they take the 3 others prisoners?

Ryxikor listens to Padre talk, but looks at the mess on the floor. Without saying a word, Ryx scoops up some of the white substance in his hand, he swirls the little granules in between his fingers, finally after smelling it then tasting it, he looks to the group, "Salt. It's just salt. But what is salt doing here?" as he sweeps his arms in an arc, indicating these underground rooms. He looks in the bowl containg salt, then back to the floor, And what it's doing here on the floor." He turns his hand up slowly, letting the rest of the salt run through his fingers and over his palm to land back on the floor underneath the carving.

The rogue looks up, looking into the carved scene and rubs his right hand over the carvings, "Who could have done this, dwarves?" With his hand still on the wall, more for leaning on now as he turns to face the others, "Magic, can anyone detect magic?"

[Talon]

I'm guessing it's some form of magic and has something to do with that salt there. Kerraur, can you tell if it is magic, and if so, how it might work?

Padre steps forward 'Let me use on of my spell as we might need Kerraur fire power later.

He lifts his holy symbol and the carving starts shining as well as people's armor and weapons. Other than us, the carving is the only thing magical. The salt and the brazier is absolutely normal. Why would some of it be on the ground? "

Savenleye bites her lip as she rapidly filters through her wealth of knowledge, waiting for something to cross her mind that might relate...

Sirali waits on the result of Padre's spell. Once he announces that nothing seems out of the ordinary, she resorts to joining Ryx in exploring. She looks through the debris on the floor and examines the brazier, wondering if anything mundane is out of order or noteworthy.
