"The ceiling is covered with spells. I don't like it, I wonder if it could be rigged to collapse." As he speaks, Theodorre scans the other side where the dwarf had been, looking for his other belongings, and hopefully his spellbook.
"Alyana, did you see any of his other belongings on that side?"

Alyana shakes her head "Sorry Theo, I just too kthe sword because you pointed them to me. I just wanted to get the hell out of this place as soon as possible

The Ranger takes the silence to mean everyone is ready. She moves to the exit, walking at first, but gathering speed as soon as she's sure everyone is following.
OK scratch that then.
"We don't know for sure the ceiling's going to collapse", Taliea points out.
"We might have time to look around. The Dwarf was obviously doing experiments here, there could be items of value," she says, hoping that's an understatement. "Magical items" she adds, looking to Theo.
With that she heads towards the chasm, and eyes it as if guaging it for a jump.

Alyana stops. " May be Theo is right. May be there is more stuff we could used. I lost a lot of expensive equipment coming here and I would not mind getting gold to replace it. However, I will not risk my life just to loot. Should we try to see if there is stuff we can loot and sell? After all, magic items carry a good price usually

Looking around nervously, Theo pulls out another a different wand, using it's powers as he mumbles the triggers phrase. The wizard, with the help of the wand looks around and let's the others know his findings.
wand of detect magic.
Can Theo copy any of the spells on the ceiling into his spellbook?

There are is definitely magic present in the area Theodore is studying, but more study will be required to identify it more precisely, and understand what manner of magic is going on here.
I have taken the liberty of assuming he's just scanning the area in front (down) of his last location.
Also, you could, but it's going to take time, as per spell copying rules. And who knows how long you'll be safe in here? Gweheheh.

After a while of examination, Theodorre sees that here, too, there stone is permeated by magic, the same aura they have seen twice before: when they entered and longer ago, when they were crossing the mysterious ridge of stones on the way here. The magic is literally flowing through the environment, the magician can see.
Quick reminder of where you are (ignore the placements)  Roll Spellcraft if you want to make sense of the flows of magic. |
