Since everyone's so eager, I suggest we let Magus DM between Cal and me.

Sounds good to me. Did you ever DM on LotMF, Magus? I seem to remember you running a game, but I can't remember what or where.

...is that a nudge that you want to resurrect it and play it out here on the site?

As a third party, I am inclined to say yes, yes it is.

I am curious about something. What happens if a creature that has been swallowed whole enlarges itself to the point where the swallower can no longer contain it? If the strength check succeeds, it bursts the restraints, does that mean the creature that swallowed it dies, or does it go on fighting?

i think we've established that RPGs are make believe and that there are no laws of physics to constrain our imagination. from a game point of view, i would think that as DM i would say that the monster regurgitated the hapless adventurer. but every situation is different. we can cross that bridge when we come to it.

It's more of an observation, actually. But thanks for your support.

Okay, cal. I do think it would be rather hilarious to make a character that is based around getting swallowed by its opponents and then enlarging itself to colossal size. Ineffective, but hilarious, especially if done against the BBEG.

i think the OOTS cartoon used this strategem already. the elf wizard did this to kill a black dragon... (s)he allowed herself to be swallowed then polymorphed in to a gargantuan dragon.

That must have been painful for the dragon. And unpleasant for the people hit by dragon chunks.
