LEt's finish it. But please also remember that when a PbP game is not happening on a daily basis, players might lose track of hooks, hint and clues. Bare with us.

I'd also really like to finish one of these games but I feel there is not enough tolerance between players. As I have said earlier, everyone is going to be a DM so please treat each other how you would like to be treated. I also think it would help the game to move faster if the DM makes certain assumptions based on what players have said. We'd all agreed we were going out to look for tracks, so if we were playing tabletop that means the players have agreed and the DM would move on to what happens when the players move out. If you were waiting for us to say we actually do it, bear in mind these things take much longer online and it delays the game! So if you're unclear you could ask us instead of waiting around for us to realise exactly what it is you are waiting for.

I also think it would help the game to move faster if the DM makes certain assumptions based on what players have said. the (big) problem with this is that when DMs make assumptions, i've seen them get angry comments from players. to my mind, it just hints at slightly lazy players (no offence intended) The DM has enough on his plate without having to play the PCs too in my humble opinion. the game will go smoothly enough if players make a post in the following format; ROLE-PLAYING TEXT (e.g. the descriptive talking stuff)
GAMING TEXT (the technical stuff like hp, AC, declared Move actions and Standard actions |
just a thought ;D EDIT: oh and also, the whole point of an adventure with a mystery is that the players need to work out what is going on, not have the DM shove the clues in their faces or stick virtual fluorescent sticky notes on important points. and i wasn't waiting for players to post, i just happened to be away.

"I think we need to pay this Patron a visit. If he wants to entertain an audience or not. And what is this 'other one'? Is there someone else? Someone who does not live here near civilization but away from it?" As Theodorre eats he wonders what this Patron is. Theodorre isn't to sure himself if he wants to meet this recluse for the sake of the town or to see if he, Theo, can somehow gain knowledge.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Theo's (and other's) brief interactions with the citizens, the Patron is a magic-user who has a tower within the settlement. His gold helps keep the community viable. Although laird of the land, the decisions are devolved to a council of elders with the PAtron taking very little interest in the day-to-day runnings.
That is my post and your response. I mentioned the patron and you gave clues that we found out about him, I wrote more about the other one and you ignored that part.
Having slept as close to the fire as possible, theo is ready to head out into the cold to find out what they can before visiting the patron. There might not be evidence to warrent a visit yet, but Theodorre knows in his own mind a meeting will be happening soon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On june 15th, Gershault made this comment to Alyana about the Patron- "Sorry m'lady but the Patron does not welcome visitors. He is a... recluse... and quite frankly, I am surprised he even intervened during the attack. I doubt he will entertain an audience with outsiders preferring to bury his beard in his scholarly lore and experiments. At least he lives within civilisation unlike the other one and keeps contact with the mundane world." Who or what is the other one Theo has asked but got no response Theo realises he obviously has to ask the right questions to the right people. It's not as if his life is written out like one big theatrical play and the script of his adventures would just appear before him to read
This is the second post I made mentioning the other one since I got nothing in my earlier post. When the dm posts that he is gonna post 1/week. Im not gonna send theo to each person and try to figure out the correct question. finding the correct question for the corect person on top of getting a reply from the dm 1/week, sounds like a long time gathering that information.

As Theodorre eats he wonders what this Patron is. Having slept as close to the fire as possible, theo is ready to head out into the cold to find out what they can before visiting the patron. Theo has asked but got no response - maybe i'm being pedantic (but i think a DM shouldnt make too many assumptions) but your post didn't say he asked any particular NPC. not every NPC has the same amount of knowledge so you must specify who you are asking. you just can't say "I'll ask every NPC this question." that's just being silly. if you're stuck, confused or need help then maybe you should start making OOC posts to your fellow players? it is a team event and i think having the DM 'spill the beans' does ruin the excitement. better still, as the DM isn't posting every day, you could make daily IN CHARACTER posts. that would be fun and showcase your RPing skills, wouldn't it?

apologies for being AWOL, was back in hospital. i think my earlier assessments were optimistic.
there are 2 combat encounters and 1 role-playing encounter left to complete in this adventure
also i have received positive interest from a 3rd party who would like to take a turn in the DM chair. how do people feel about carrying on with the multiDM format?

As Cal mentioned, I'd be the 3rd party in question. If everyone is interested, I've got an adventure offering for all and sundry. If folks would like, I'll post some details to give you an idea on the topic ^^

I'm for carrying on with the format, and I think you're welcome to join, Magus.
By the way, Cal, 'unseen' in your last post means we simply can't see it, doesn't it?

it sounds like, not yet we don't but whatever we do, we need to find it's lair, since that is where it's treasure probably is
