you can use the wand of charm person, i don't see any reason not to allow it! one use counts as an automatic diplomacy check at the least
just be prepared for any consequences... [evil DM laughter]

The FLASH ZHOOM and other light and/or sound effects could make doing this quietly a problem. There IS a FLASH ZHOOM, right?

If I would fail said bluff check, that would end this encounter. Let's see. Ladies and gentlemen, generally speaking individuals, would you mind if I did?

i tell me players that they shouldnt fret. playing RPG should be a funactivity. the skill encounter is only a fun way of getting XP and an advantage in the adventure. failing it means the adventure carries on but is harder. in this situation, i thin kthe sherpas will dump your gear and run away leaving you all to carry it yourself

i think it's better if we only have one OOC thread, so i've locked the other one.
as DM I am waiting to hear what you guys want to do next. FYI the weather is beginning to close in.
Also, I'm quite happy to slow the game down to 2-3 posts per week. the idea of the multi DM game was to have a bit of fun but i'm worried some folk are taking it a bit too seriously and high-powered. i'd much rather have achinca's game as my primary reason for coming to fantasticlands and the multiDM game as an intriguing sideline.
does a slower game suit everyone?

Yeah, I'd like maybe 3-4 posts per week. If I feel pressured into posting everyday, I find it starts to feel more like a chore and less like a fun passtime.

since last week, three of the players have posted as i have a rudimentary grasp of grammar i had a look at the verbs in each post
one wanted to "ask" her friends what they should do another wanted to "nod" her head and a third was annoyed he wasnt able to ask himself a question and get a decent answer
as this is a game and not a novel, i need the players to take turns. pretend it's like that game "Zork" so you have to enter commands like; "I want to move outside and look for tracks" or "I'll go find Gershault and ask him what he meant by his earlier comments" or "I think i'll pack up and leave this crazy place and go somewhere more safe"
i think you can expect a post 4-6 times per month from the DM so you can happily make player-to-player posts as often as you like to come up with a cunning plan in character.

Hmm, I understand you have real life issues, Cal, and that always comes first. But I don't think I'm gonna be too interested in playing if we can only expect 1 post a week. It's a let down when 'you' log in and continually see no posts. I agree with She Elf, if you look at the post just before Cal's, she says 3-4 posts a week is cool. Hope all is well in your world Cal

Well, this is a multi DM game. May be if Cal cannot afford the time to run the game, may be we could move on to the next DM.
Cal is and should be focusing on what really matters: family.

i certainly have to prioritise my spare time and if people want to move on to the next DM then that's cool with me.
to be honest, the whole point of the multiDM game was to keep us busy (one vocal player in particular) while we waited for wildfox to run his game
also some DMs want to start from low level i think
if there is no need or appetite for the multiDM game then we could call it a night on this idea.

Ok, Cal has voiced his opinion on the multi-DM games. He isn't interested in playing. But just because cal isn't interested in playing, why should we call it a night on this idea? We can continue on just fine without cal. Sorry but I'm not interested in playing in a game where the dm is only gonna post once a week, and in that post, the dm tells my character that he didn't ask the correct person the correct question. it's kinda stupid to me to try and have a question answered for 2-4 weeks. My only question is: Who's next? I'd really like to finish one of these multi-dm games!

I believe I'm next. The amount of posting didn't bother me, but if you want to move on, let's do that. Do we just fade out of this adventure into the next and assume it ended somehow?

well before we pull the plug on another one, let's see if Cal can/want to increase his post rate. i would like to finish an adventure.

I'm actually quite happy to keep running the adventure
One player felt that he didn't want to play in a game with so infrequent posting.
I'm willing to keep on DMing if the players want me to, with or without all the players. ;D
The multiDM game can be a fun distraction. We shouldnt take it so seriously and just enjoy it.
