Alyana willl never abandoned Kurt. Period. She might let the other ones jump to their death but not him. He is closer than a blood brother to her. If this means, I pass for this adventure, so be it. But I must be loyal to her spirit. DM edit; YAY! the DM will allow bodies to be recovered somehow for the next adventure (there's only 3 encounters (combat and non-combat) to this mini-adventure anyhoos so should be over quickly )PLayer Edit: I knowthat Alyana will die but will the equipment be lost too?

in my mind, if your character dies, you get a free rez and you manage to have found replacement equipment - sounds fairer that way surely?

EDITING POSTS sometimes we decide we want to amend our posts. im okay with players doing so as long as 1) the new amended post makes sense 2) other posts in the game continue to make sense 3) you do not delete and words, but you can score a line through any unwanted words and add new words in italics (dont use green font as that is being used by the DM for DM edits)
e.g. Kurt decides to attack the gnome with the mandolin orc with the purple beads
OUT OF CHARACTER QUESTIONS i actually didnt mind answering player queries as edits to players posts - although i think some players think this makes the game thread untidy (e.g. i wrote three DM edits for one player and they've all been deleted now). if you want a speedy response then you could PM me for an answer me or you can write something here AND then PM to alert me to your query.
TIME dont be afraid to ask me dumb questions the pace of external events go on unabated even if you dont post because you dont know what's going on.

for the mathematicians out there; from the info posted you can work out that the airship is 'slowly' rising at a speed of approx "2 ft per sec" every second, compared to gravity which is about "30 ft per sec" every second.
The launch cradles boost the zeppelins quickly out the cladera once they are safely away from people on the ground. you can expect the acceleration to be much more fierce.
every time you post, that is what you are doing for that combat round (i.e. six seconds) and probably nothing else - time does not stand still and you have to react to variables you do not know.

the game is effectively split most of the players are aboard the DS Prince Faldlin and therefore the general board will reflect what happens with that group
As Alyanna and Kurt-the-NPC are in a seperate group, it seems sensible for me to write posts for Achinca privately until the two groups meet up again.
Alain, i know you won't divulge any secrets to the other group (yet) ;D

But But Alyana's dead ...... DM edit; no, she isn't yet. I would strongly urge all players to read over what posts/PMs i've made so far as the next post i make is a really big important one!

Okay, did we just end up bypassing most of what you had planned for a plot? I didn't notice any encounters, were we expected to try to hold the line a bit longer?

currently i'm in a holding pattern with the next adventure. The tavern scene is just an RP arena until people feel ready to roll some dice. besides, will be away for 2+ days most likely.
once everyone is ready, i'll move to the next scene

i love skill challenges because....
(i) it rewards players who develop their character in ways that don't involve buuying the largest blade and maxing out combat stats
(ii) it allows the party to have a meaningful encounter that isn't botched on just a single skill roll.
(iii) it allows everyone to take part, including the warriors
(iv) the DM has fun making up challenges that aren't resolved with someone getting a bloody nose
(v) it promotes ROLE-PLAYING
(vi) now it's worthwhile spending time improving skills

Now, I understand this isn't the classical solution Cal was hoping for, and there will be a few less skill rolls, but I have a very non-traditional suggestion.
As I've mentioned, the sorceror has a wand of Charm Person. Endowed with the lack of a conscience, he could now very well charm the most fearful (or intelligent) ones, so there's less work to do on the others, if there would be any way to make sure those others don't notice we're cheating. Any reactions? Did I at least amuse you with Kerzeme's direct approach?
