The group waits on Ryxikor findings before proceeding down the lower mausoleum. Odlin’s mind slowly drifts from the current situation to his somehow tortured childhood. Ryxikor slowly enters the lower mausoleum. He checks the body and the woman looks completely dead, bludgeoned to death. He moves forward toward the first table with a fresh corpse. Suddenly, the corpse moves and takes a swing at him. The body has been reanimated and is a zombie. Luckily for Ryxikor, if the zombie had not been in a prone position, out would have been able to claw the elf. The copse on the second table to the right gets up, another fresh corpse reanimated. Clacking noise come up and 3 archers skeletons show up, north of the dense rubbles. Please roll initiative. OOC: Can volunteer someone play Stadvas and Augustine during the fight?

Stadvas realises that he's call upon to exercise his skills and he moves carefully forward to tackle the zombies with his bludgeoning flail. Augustine makes to unleash some arrows but Odlin refrains him as he he tries to recall some ancient lore about the walking rotten corpses. The elf ignores the dwarf, anxious to stop these abominations from walking.
i dont know ppl's stats and IMHO i think it fair for the DM to roll
Stadvas: move to I3 with a 5ft step, draw flail and power attack Z1 Augustine: move 10ft north to J4, then 15ft NE to H6 then 5ft E to H7. Fire an arrow at Z1 Odlin: move to I4 and swing at Z1 (hit 18+1=AC19, 1d6 bludgeon damage). Odlin does Know Religion checks to remember weakness and strength of zombies (6+4=10) and skeletons (12+4=16)
Odlin AC17 vsZ1, otherwise AC16 hp19 F+4 R+4 W+5 init+1 = 17

As he carefully steps around the corpse, Ryx is horrified as he sees the sickly decaying hand move and attack him. Barely missing the undead's grasp, the elf's alert ears pick up the sound of others in the large room. Not surprised to see archers, the young elf is very surprised to see skeleton archers. He gasps and quickly pulls the hilt of his rapier to his stomach with the point of the blade pointing out to his left, out of harm's way. The nimble elf then dives into a forward roll, trying to tumble out of harm's way. Ryx finishes his acrobatic move in a crouch, turning back towards his undead assailants and crouching down, using the table as cover from the boney archers. His races back to when he was young, hearing tales if the village adventurers fighting undead, now here he is, being attacked by undead corpses and skeleton archers. With his back to the wall and his rapier out before him, Ryx crouches in a defensive manner, unless one of the zombies comes near then he thrusts out with his blade.
init: 1d20(18)+3=21
HP: 10 AC: 16, +4 cover 20
move action: tumble to H7 tumble: 1d20(14)+8=22
Standard action: attack if anyone comes near attack: 1d20(18)+5=23 damage: 1d6
OOC: I dont guess you can crit an undead. I think Cal would be better at playing the others. Also, Cal I dont know my monetary split of the treasure that Ryx was involved in. Could you please take a peek and let mem know what it is, thanks mate.

Augustine, if unable to get to H7 because of his acrobatic cousin, stops at H6 so as not to have anyone block his view to Z1 although secretly he HOPES THAT THE ROGUE GOES SOMEWHERE ELSE SO THAT Z2 WON'T ENGAGE THE ARCHER IN MELEE ;D
everyone keep an eye out for what the rest of the party are doing so we don't get in each other's way... Augustine can accept a -4 for firing to melee but he shouldnt try to have an ally provide cover also! also we want the zombies lured away from him so he can provide what artillery support he can against bones and rotten flesh! /tries to hide DM undead knowledge posted puff a PM with the link to the loot thread, remember that Ryx also has a potion of CLW from the party to use for the greater good (uses include keeping the rogue alive! )

OOC: If our archer stayed at J4 at the top of the steps, does he get a bonus for being on higher ground?

Initiative: Skeletons, Ryxikor, Odlin, Zombie, Stadvas and Augustine The skeletons fire their arrows at Ryxikor as he is the closest and they do not worry about firing in a melee. However, all of the attempts fail miserably. One notable fact was that one of the arrows shot was a flaming arrow. Ryxikor successfully tumbles away from the zombie and takes cover behind a table. Odlin stays on the gradual stairs and swings his club. He get a little advantage from being higher than his enemy and his club successfully hit the zombie. However his hit does not seems to do any damages to the zombie. The wizard has a flashback and remember the cleric from his clan lecturing the children about undead, indicating that zombie were particularly sensitive to slashing and the skeletons to bludgeoning. The first zombie attacks the wizard but does not make contact. The second one starts approaching Odlin. Stadvas moves forward and attack the first zombie. His hit is strong and powerful thanks to the power attack but somehow the damages are not as effective as one would expect. Augustine moves to the landing and fires his arrows. Both shots are hits but once again, the damages are minimal. Round 2
OOC: I overruled Augustine moves as it makes move sense for a shooter to stay up and fire. He has precision shot so the -4 does not apply anymore.

Odlin's fury lifts from him like a mist before the sunlight of realisation. His eagerness to get his hands on Zlak has caused him to lead his friends in an ill-prepared assault on the burial chambers. He plants his feet firmly on the ground. " Ryx! Let's go! They are too many!" Augustine heeds the call to retreat and starts back up the stairs Stadvas grimly holds the line, hoping to damage these monsters by brute force alone
ODLIN: F: total defence AC21 vs Z2, else 21 STADVAS:power attacks with his blugeoning flail onZ1 M: flail 1d20+6-3= AC11 for 1d10 +6 power attack +4 str&2H? am guessing stad's stats by his previous level 2 posts, added +1 to hit as he's level 3 now? AUGUSTINE: heads back up the stairs i suggest we go back to town and buy some slashing weapons and holy water and flasks of oil. also IMHO precise shot doesnt negate the -4AC for shooting thru an ally - also means you might skewer a friend! - which is why i didnt keep the archer on the stairs but in the end it was a better call so we could retreat and get tooled up properly!

Ryx starts towards the walking dead with his rapier, but just as he gets close he hears the words of the dwarf. The elf abandons his attack and leaps onto the steps following the others out tof the mausoleum.
d**n, that was why I had Ryx go to the temple to get some holy water, I forgot to make a post about that.

Initiative: Skeletons, Ryxikor, Odlin, Zombie, Stadvas and Augustine The skeletons fire another trio of arrow, one of them being a flaming arrow. All 3 of them fail to hit Odlin. Ryxikor abandons his attack and moves to the upper mausoleum. Odlin stays there in total defense, like a captain abandoning his ship last. The two zombies attack Stadvas and both fail to pierce the warrior armor. Stadvas swings his flail at the Zombie but fail to connect. He asks Odlin “Are you sure master dwarf we cannot take these guys? They do not seem to be able to hurt us?”

"well they haven't hurt us nor have we laid harm upon their non-life bones.
Let us withdraw and prepare for they will not speak of our passing to our enemies!" remarks the wizard to his hulking companion.
The group withdraw and make haste to Kingsholm to restock
S: Total Defence as before M: move away (AC bonus retained against any AoO)
in town buy a dagger & 8 vials of holy water for myself and a longsword for Stadvas (if he doesnt have one already) (- 217gp) then we'll return straightaway.

As the group marches out of the cemetary, Ryxikor's deadly rapier is quickly replaced with the beautifully crafted flute. He runs his lean dexterous fingers over the unknown dark wood, marveling over the smoothness and remembering the richness in the notes when he played. The rogue starts to play a slow haunting tune with many high notes, in salute to the cemetary and it's undead combatants.
Once Odlin informs the group on the proper weapons to be used on the zombies and skeletons, the elf thinks about some kind of blunt weapon and just settles on a club for fighting the boney adversaries. Already having daggers including his silver stilleto, Ryx is prepared for the zombies, including the one that surprised him.
Ryx will get 8 vials of holy water , 2 tanglefoot bag and a club

Augustine asks the shopkeeper if they have any sort of arrow that is designed for crushing impact or slashing flesh rather than piercing the target, remembering that many undead aren't much affected by stabbing.

Once the group gets right back to the task at hand, Ryxikor leads them back down the steps. With his dagger in his right hand and a club in the other, he slowly steps down one step at a time. With each step, Ryx peers into the room to see if he can see any movement.

The group withdraws from the lower mausoleum, realizing that they were not probably equipped to deal with undead. They exit the cemetery, opening the door using the keys they received and as they walk back toward the village, you notice that all the doors and shops are closed, even the tavern. Mia is in the middle of the central place. She smiles when she sees the adventurers but when they explain why they are back so soon, her face frowns. “Undead you say and fresh one? This is not good at all. This means that an evil cleric is at work here. I do not like it at bit at all. I am so glad I have ordered a curfew to protect the villagers.” Her men walk the group to the armory (where there are no arrow of the type Augustine wants) and to the general shopkeeper for the adventurers to do they shopping. Mia personally goes with them to the graveyard entrance after they are done shopping. “Best of luck. We are armed and as ready as we are going to be. I will maintain curfew until I hear back from you!”
The group reenters the mausoleum. Nothing has changed. Ryxikor goes down back to the landing. The skeletons are nowhere to be seen and the zombies are lying on their tables.

"well then," says Odlin to his group. "I wager that the walking bones will appear anon when we enter and rotted corpses up to rend our flesh."
He suggests a plan. If Augustine's arrows are ineffectual, perhaps he would have better luck throwing flasks of oil and holy water at the undead. There is no advantage to Ryx trying to backtab the undead so perhaps he could protect augustine so that the ranger can launch missile attacks without threat of attack. Stadvas and Odlin could approach the zombies and take them down one-by-one "Although my heart grows heavy to wonder if more dangerous unliving abominations infest the deeper reaches and our special weapons be of more use thither? Perhaps we should all adopt arms and in a line approach them?"
we either start to use up our holy water and oil now or leave it till later. if we attacked the zombies using daggers and swords, we might be able to take them down - aim for one until it stops moving and then carry on to the next. if the skeleton archers provide a problem then another group should move to engage them in melee?
