Initiative: Odlin, Stadvas, Augustine, Ryxikor, Miriam, Monsters

Round 8 Starts

Odlin stays where he is in total defense, analyzing the situation. Using his superior intellect, he understands that the spider has some kind of protection towards damages but magic does hurt it. He looks down at his broken club and the small dagger he is holding and he knows that attacking the monster would be useless. So he decides to go and use a strategy he has used before “helping the touch guy” (help another succeed I will add + 2 to Stadvas roll).

Stadvas fully ready to hurt the spider charges it and swings his flail only to see the spiky ball of metal fly away from the spider body.

Augustine goes back to his usual form as one arrow he shoot hits while the other miss. He truly fee lucky to have found that magical bow so recently. The arrow goes deep inside the spider belly, making bleed even more.

Ryxikor unleashes another arrow which is a nice hit but the wound created heals leaving no mark.

Miriam, seeing that other have engaged the spider take a 5 feet step back, pulls out the wand of CLW and touches herself. However, to her horrified surprised eyes, the wounds, instead of healing bleed more profusely. It is too much for the cleric and she fall to the ground unconscious and bleeding, letting the wand go (19 charges left).

The large spider switches her attention to Stadvas and bites him easily. In addition to the fangs hurting him, Stadvas feels a stronger poison trying to get inside his veins.

Miriam: – 5HP damages – currently at -1/30, unconscious and bleeding
Stadvas:-6HP damages – Currently at 19/29

While his body repels yet another wave of poison, Stadvas tries to get through the horrible creature's hard carapace with his still magical flail. He pays more attention to actually hitting now, but the result is exactly the same thing.

Fort against poison: 14+5=19 (wahey!)
Attack: 1d20+6=6+6=12
Where are the crits when you need them?
And damage 1d20+6

AC 17
HP 19/29

Augustine sees Miriam go down and asks "What was that? Didn't she just heal herself?" He continues shooting at the spider, determined to finish it in time to help Miriam. Unfortunately, his worry takes a toll on his aim.

Rapid shot: 1d20+6=13, 1d20+6=11

What kind of check would it take to find out what happened to Miriam? Can Odlin make that check? Hopefully we can stabilize Miriam without magic, just takes a DC15 wisdom check.

Round 9 Starts

Odlin does everything he can to distract the spider to help the warrior and the dwarf succeed in his attempt. (help another succeed I will add + 2 to Stadvas roll).

Regardless of Odlin’s effort, Stadvas is half hearted and the flail does not even come close to hit the spider.

Augustine is trying to make sense of Miriam reaction to the healing wand and is starting to worry about the survival chances of the cleric. This small lapse in concentration cost him his accuracy as both arrows shot miss their mark.

Ryxikor unleashes another arrow which sails high above the spider and goes break against the web covered wall.

Miriam is lying on the ground and continues bleeding. Blood as started to come out of her mouth.

The large spider continues its attack on Stadvas succeeding again. The fangs go deep inside his body and he feels the familiar sensation of poison trying to get inside him.

Round 9 Ends

Miriam: – 1HP damages – currently at -2/30, unconscious and bleeding
Stadvas:-6HP damages – Currently at 13/29

Seeing his arrows aren't doing any harm and not knowing what to do, Ryxikor drops his bow and rushes around the statue while pulling free his rapier and short sword. He moves up beside Stadvas, trying to help Odlin distract the beast.

Odlin decides to help the warrior defeat the spider. He steps back then summons his arcane lore
"Let me touch your mighty weapon friend!"
Odlin continues to harass the spider

Then he shouts at Ryx to move around and flank the spider, at least that will help Stad land a telling blow.

M: 5ft step east to D7 so i'm shielded from AoO
S: cast MAGIC WEAPON then touch stadvas' flail
S: Aid Another +2 hit Stadvas = FAIL!
M: 5ft step east to C9 (will eventually flank this sucker!)

With his flail now covered with two layers of magic, Stadvas continues his assaults on the spider. The new poison just mixes with that in his ~~venom~~ blood system, and his body happily ignores its existance.

Fort save: 19+5=24
I wonder if all that poison hasn't made him poisonous to bite yet...

Attack roll:
1d20+7 (+2 from Augustine's Aid Another?) =6+7 (+2) =13 (15?)

Damage
1d10+7

Round 10 Starts

Odlin continues to slowly move himself into a strategic location and tries to divert the spider but fail in your attempt.

Using the help from Ryxikor diverting tactics, Stadvas swings his magically enhanced flail only to see it bounce of the monster hide without doing any damages.

Augustine is back to his usual form, hitting one of two arrows. The second one goes deep, making the grotesque abdomen of the spider look like a pin cushion.

Ryxikor, in an unusual display of front line bravery moves next to Stadvas and starts diverting the spider and succeed in doing so.

Miriam is lying on the ground and continues bleeding. Tiny drip of blood have started to come out of her nose.

The large spider has figured out Stadvas defense and succeeds again in biting him. The fangs go deep inside the warrior body and he feels the familiar sensation of poison trying to get inside him. The fighter is starting to look like he is in a bad shape.

Round 10 Ends

Miriam: – 1HP damages – currently at -3/30, unconscious and bleeding
Stadvas:-6HP damages – Currently at 7/29

With more poison rushing through his veins, Stadvas continues launching attack after attack against the beast. He can only hope he won't, like Miriam, end up bleeding to death on the floor.

I did. With two Magic Weapons (I assumed they stacked, because I thought Cal realized it was already magic)
STR 2 + BAB 3 - PA 1 +magic 2 (one for oil, one from Odlin) + feat 1 = 7
STR 3 + PA 2 + Magic 2 = 7

With only one magic weapon, that's 6 and 6.

The standard poison save: 11+5=16

AC 17
HP 7/29

Attack on spider: 13 + 6 = 19 (Possibly +2 or +4 from the Aid Anothers)
Damage 1d10+6

Odlin keeps moving to flank the spider

S: aid another to give Stadvas +2AC! = FAIL

M: 5ft step east to C10

bonuses do not stack, except dodge bonuses

so the magical enhancement bonus from the oil would not stack with any other magical enhancements, not even a masterwork bonus.

If the spider is not immune to crits then Ryx should be moving to flank it with Stadvas (i.e. getting to F9 or F10 and Stad taking a 5ft step to get to C9); both then get +2 to hit (automatically for flanking), also with Ryx's sneak attack damage he might be able to overcome the damage resistance slowly.

Ryxikor, knowing his advantage lies in flanking opponents, tries to circle around the massive spider, hoping he doesn't get bit by the large venomous fangs that extend down like sharp daggers. Once in position, he lunges for the large abdomen with his rapier, hoping to hit a vital organ.

Stad will need to hold his attack so Ryx can move

Sounds like DM's discretion.
