Finally being free from the web, Ryxikor wants to help his friends. His eyes almost bulge out of his head when he sees the new large threat emerging from the stairs. He drops his rapier, he quickly unshoulders his short bow and grabs an arrow, nocking it as quickly as possible. Behind the statue, and using it as cover, Ryx aims at the large arachnid, and lets the arrow fly.

Stadvas' body fights off poison, and this time, he is able to fight off the urge to throw up successfully, but the web entangling him proves to be too much of a challenge for the fighter to break.
Fort against poison: 14+5=19 Fort against nausea: 17+5=22 STR to break the webs: 8+2=10
HP 25/29 AC 17
I get the idea the spiders don't like Stadvas.

Round 5 Starts Odlin wants to help his friend but cannot shake the horror of being covered in these nasty red spiders. He is nauseated for the round but has enough savvy to true to split the swarm. Stadvas has no issue avoiding the poison and is getting used to be covered in spider. He choose to try to free himself rather than squishing more spider but the fresh web is too strong for him at the moment. Augustine he fails to resist the nausea and spend the next 6 second trying not to puke. Ryxikor using the cover of the statue unleashes an arrow at the large spider. The arrow hits but the wound seems to heal immediately. The monster does not even look toward Ryxikor. Miriam is completely unaffected by the swarm and focuses on dispersing it. She hits a master hit that squishes a lot of the spiders, forcing the swarm to dissolve. After that she moves into a position to face the spider head first and away from her friend.. The large spider accepts Miriam’s offer and attack it head first. It buries its fangs deep into the poor cleric skin and Miriam screams in pain. ‘I have been poisoned. This is too much for us. Run while you can, I will hold it as much as I can.” Miriam: – 9 damages – currently at 9/20Round 5 Ends -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FYI:Entagled is -4 to dexterity aka -2 to your modifier. FYI: Stadvas needs to do either a strength check, an escape artist check or tries to break the web with his weapon OOC1: Good thing of the swarm is that Noda absence can be roleplayed as having Augustine nauseated OOC2: This monster is for real and might mean the end of a few adventurers if not the whole party. OOC3: Spider is smart and will entangle the most threating character, in this case poor Stadvas

Odlin is agog to see the spider's wounds heal from Ryx's arrow. The situation seems lost indeed. But how to pass the spider without being attacked?" This may require magic! Augustine shoot the spider with your bow, it's potency might overcome its defences!" The dwarf summons his courage, resisting the urger to flee and leave Miriam and Stadvas to a certain death. He pulls at the weave of the multiverse, gathering a link between himself and the spider as he siphons off its strength. somehow his fear prevents him from completing the complex spell.
not a great time to have the archer with the magic bow nauseated S: cast ray of enfeeblement on spider ranged touch attack = AC5 (heh )

Under the webs, Stadvas attempts to burst through them, pulling and pushing and trying to rip with every muscle in his entire body. Or at least every muscle that he can use, in a hurry to help them combat the spider. Even though he doesn't have a choice, he can't leave, he rejects Miriam's offer. "Ladies first."

Augustine, now free of the spiders, moves up next to Odlin and Stadvas, then does what he does best, miss half the time. "Stadvas, if you get free, take that vial off of my pouch, use it on your flail." In response to Miriams encouragement to run, Augustine says, "Not a chance. You aren't allowed to die."
Move 5 feet east, rapid shot at the spider. 1d20+6=101d20+6=21Damage: 1d6+2 magic. We still haven't used that oil of magic weapon, I think now is the time. I'm assuming Augustine is no longer nauseated, that the nausea ended this round. If not, my mistake.

Round 6 Starts Odlin first reaction is to return to his coward way and run away abandoning Miriam to a sure death. But he quickly realizes that saving Jukia at the price of Miriam’s life is not a deal that the wizard is willing to pay. He tries to sap the strength of the monster but his spell fizzle unfortunately. Next round, he will likely regain his strength by drinking one of the potion he took from the dead varags. Stadvas knowing that Miriam is a tough situation gather extra strength to free himself from the web and succeeds. He roars and put his sight on the nasty spider. Augustine finally free of his nausea unleashes two arrows and as usual only one hit. The arrow enters deep but somehow that spider body rejects the arrow and s small scratch is left. Apparently, magic is the element to break the monster healing process. Ryxikor unleashes another arrow that hit the monster but no damage is apparent. The monster seems to be ignoring the arrow shooters so far. Miriam swings its mace at the spider but the attempt is too weak to hit. The large spider attacks Miriam again and digs its fang again inside the cleric’s skin. At the same time, the second wave of poison hit her. The situation is looking quite dire. Miriam: – 8 damages – currently at 11/30Round 6 Ends Map: Same as before -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: This fight is for real. If you notices that I actually NPC a character in a fight making an attack while the player could not post and did not ask for me to NPC, it is a sign that the situation is dire. Miriam and others could die, even a TPK is possible. Take this fight seriously. We got lucky that I forgot to update Miriam HP and she had 30 and not 20. If that was the case she would be at 1 like Odlin.

"Get out. You can help the dying." Stadvas says, grabbing the oil off Augustine's belt and emptying the flask over his flail. He prepares to engage the greatly oversized arachnid in battle.
Take oil from Augustine, use it on the weapon. AC 17 HP 25/29

Augustine continues to loose arrows at the beast, hoping to do enough damage that it can't heal everything.
full attack: 1d20+6=20, 1d20+6=25Damage: 1d6+2 each, magic damage. It sounds like you are saying that it is regenerating, but magic beats the DR, unless you meant to say isn't the element, in which case I'm probably wasting time with the arrows. Does anyone have any fire to try on the spider? Alchemists or otherwise? HP: 20 AC: 17

Initiative: Odlin, Stadvas, Augustine, Ryxikor, Miriam, Monsters Round 7 Starts Odlin digs into his backpack and retrieve the potion of CMW he found on a dead varag. He gulps it and sees a lot of his wound healing. Stadvas realizes that a retreat might be the best option and that he might have to act as a last defender. He puts Augustine magic oil on his flail and is ready to face the spider. Augustine unleashes another round of arrows and to his own surprise, both hit. With a big smile, the half-elf she his arrows bury themselves deep inside the monster flesh. Ryxikor unleashes another arrow but that ones flies high above the monster. Miriam swings her mace at the spider but once again, she fail to make contact. The large spider has no conundrum bout biting Miriam and succeed, bringing the priestess to the brink of unconsciousness. Miriam: – 7 damages – currently at 4/30 Odlin: +12HP healing – Currently at 13/19Round 7 Ends Map: Same as before
OOC: The spider does not have a regeneration power. It was creative RP. It does have a DR and the way to beat the DR is not because of the weapon style. OOC2: I just checked the SRD and learned that magic weapons bypass DR. In this case, the 3 arrows Augustine has landed on the spider did good damages. Sorry about that.

Finally ready with his preparations, Stadvas rushes forward, towards the spider, the oil on his weapon gleaming wetly. He can only hope that the spider will turn its attention on him, because with this spider, they might need her healing abilities.

Augustine steps forward and unleashes two more arrows, glad to see that his attacks are having an effect, and very glad that he got his hands on this bow just in time. He doesn't emote any more than usual, but inside, he is squealing like a little girl.
5 foot step east, rapid shot. 1d20+6=23, 1d20+6=14damage: 1d6+2 Ilya, did you remember the bonuses for using a magic weapon and for charging? 4 (BAB) + 2 (str) + 1 (magic) + 2 (charge) would be +9, right? Or are you power attacking?

I'm using power attack, which makes STR 2 + BAB 1 (with PA) + magical 1 + charge 2 + feat 1 And damage STR 3 + PA 4

"What can I do?" Ryx yells to the others, while he nocks another arrow. As he pulls the next arrow back to his check and lets it fly, he thinks of how he tried to get the others to go back to town to sell off the equipment they have won to get better weapons, maybe even a magical one.
