Augustine draws his sword and swings at the insects covering the floor next to him. Surprised by the amount of ground the swarm managed to cover, he tries to tell if the milling swarm is multiplying.
M: draw longsword S: attack spiders in my own square. Attack: 1d20+6=20I'm sorry, that should be a 1d20+4, so total is 18, damage 1d8+1. I wonder if any stats have been made for a swarm that multiplies itself every round, that would be pretty nasty at lower levels (until you get to attacking three or four times a round and having fireballs).

Odlin begins to feel fear. His is surrounded by monsters in front of him, allies behind him and tiny spiders with me!
He curses in dwarven that his well meaning allies have prevented him from stepping away from danger and although he considers risking an opportunity attack, the dwarf waits till he is given space to escape.
"Keep the dagger for now, friend." Odlin looks nervous and asks, "let me out of here! the flames, must escape!"
TOTAL DEFENCE +4AC (AC21)
picking an item up (from the ground) provokes an AoO so i might guess that picking one up from someone's hand might be the same as we have to co-ordinate our actions. however one can snatch an item from an enemy provoking an AoO from that enemy but no-one else, so Stadvas might be allowed to let me draw his dagger from a belt sheathe if he decides not to attack me. This doesnt rely on Stadvas standing still but may involve a disarm roll on my behalf. Stadvas can probably elect not to oppose the roll so the DM might asign a basic DC 5 or just allow it. (i looked up Disarm and grabbing items in the PHB, doesnt say that stadvas HAS to resist Odlin's attempt). i'm cool with whatever chinca suggests

Initiative: Odlin, Stadvas, Augustine, Ryxikor Round 2 Starts Odlin is started to realize that he might meet his brother fate. He drops his club and goes into total defense mode. Then cursing the group, he sees a dagger on Stadvas’ belt and decides t o steal it.Understanding the wizard goal, Stadvas let him take the dagger. Stadvas is now quite upset with the spider swarm and hit is real real hard with his flail, crushing a huge numbers of little spiders. This is enough confusion for the swarm to disperse. Augustine happy to be free of the spiders unleashes another arrow toward the creature wrapped in a web. As he is free of the vermin, he can focus and hit the monster hard. Ryxikor keeps trying to free himself but that web is quite sticky. His stress level increase as he hears that whatever is on the balcony has started to go down the stairs. Miriam easily shakes the disgustingness of being covered in these red spiders and grabs her wand and touches the injured wizard, doing her best to keep the party alive. (21 charges left) The web covered creature keeps hitting the dwarf in front of it and although the dwarf is in total defense, the slam it too hard and powerful. moves forward and slams hard on Odlin, piercing the dwarf defense with incredible violence, nearly sending the dwarf in the afterlife. Odlin: +4HP of healing (sorry low roll ) and – 13 of damages – currently at -4/19 and bleedingRound 2 Ends
OOC1: No problem with Odlin taking a dagger from Stadvas as Stadvas is willing to let him take it. But Odlin need to let go of the club first.. OOC2: Noda, the swarm was dead so I changed your action to shooting an arrow to TM. I kept your roll which was a hit. OOC3: Noda, the swarm did not multiply. I did not know that it was a 4 square monster as I read the description as tiny. 2nd error on this fight. Wonder what the third one will be. OOC4: Everyone, except Ryxikor need to do a fortitude save with a DC of 13. If you fail it, your character will be nauseated for round 3. OOC5: Can everyone please tell me his character alignment. FIY: Nauseated: Experiencing stomach distress. Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move action per turn.

With the spiders finally defeated, Stadvas shifts his attention to the creature wrapped in webs. As always, the desire to destroy is expressed by swinging his flail.

Augustine instinctively begins to move forward towards Odlin when he sees the dwarf fall, but relies on Miriam to help, and begins his patented stream o' arrows technique.
Fort save: 1d20+4=18Rapid point blank shot: 1d20+6=10, 21damage: 1d6(shortbow) + 1 (point blank shot) +1 (magic) = 1d6+2? No strength bonus, right? Alignment: CN Could Miriam drag odlin away 5 feet and heal him in the same round? That way, he would be out of the way unless the web beast had a vendetta against him, and he would be able to use his magic without provoking an AoO.

Odlin thinks that at least he's dying with his friends and family around him instead of alone like his brother.

Initiative: Odlin, Stadvas, Augustine, Ryxikor, Miriam, Monsters Round 3 Starts Odlin, lying on the ground unconscious continues to bleed. He seems at peace, as if knowing that he is surrounded by friends. Stadvas focuses now his attention on the web covered creature but the swing of the flail is easily avoided by the creature Augustine decides to unleash his rain of arrows. As usual, his success rate is 50%. The first arrows flies high above the monster’s head but the other arrow rips through the eye socket and completely traverse the monster’s head, extinguishing its last life energy. Augustine happiness is short lived because as the Tomb Mummy (monster name) dies, the creature living in it comes out and to the group dismay; it is another red spider swarm. Ryxikor is still unsuccessful in his attack to escape the sticky web. He swallows hard because his ears have told him that whatever was upstairs is on the stairs and will be showing up next round. Miriam thinks about dragging Odlin but with the new enemy being a swarm, it won’t make a difference. She touches the dying dwarf with the wand, stopping the bleeding and bringing back to consciousness. (20 charges left) The spider swarm attacks the 4 heroes covering them in tiny spiders trying to bite them and enters their bodies. As their host body has been destroyed, the spiders are quite angry and attack with added ferocity. Augustine, Stadvas and Miriam all feel their bite. Only the struggling Odlin is untouched. The priestess feels that the spider poison is trying to get inside her system but her strong constitution allows to hake it off.. Odlin: – 1 of bleeding and +6HP of healing – currently at 1/19 Augustine: – 2 damages – currently at 18/20 Stadvas: – 2 damages – currently at 27/29 Miriam: – 2 damages – currently at 18/20Round 3 Ends -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC1: Cal, what is Odlin alignment? OOC2: 3 out of 4 character a CN. Interesting. I thought everyone was a good character except for Augustine. OOC3: Augustine and Stadvas needs at fortitude save against poison. OOC4: All 4 adventurers caught in the swarm need to do a fortitude save to avoid being nauseated (DC13)

Odlin blinks away the blood and tears and looks up to see Miriam's face. Lying on the ground he takes a raspy breath, feeling the pain in his ribs remind him that he is still bound to this mortal coil.
He lies there cathing his breath when the mummy figure destructs, unleashing more red spiders over him!
Aaarrgh!
The wizard wishes he had a weapon in hand to attack them as they swarm over him. Instead he fumbles around for the dagger lying nearby, picks it up before standing up and then swings at the pesky arachnids
Dodge vs swarm AC17 melee dagger +2 = AC12 (1d4) LAWFUL GOOD hp 1
swarms have no reach so they dont get AoO? i dont have the books to hand, could you check it up? ... picking up dagger from floor and standing up X(
PS: other (armed) character would have got AoO against swarm when it entered their squares unless its a special feature of the mummy's death throw

Stadvas' body is strong enough to fight off the poison, but as he is once again covered in spiders, his stomach starts protesting, and he feels unable to continue fighting for the moment. He is too busy fighting with his own intestines.
Fort saves: 1d20+5=12+5=17 1d20+5=2+5=7 Not good.
HP 27/29 AC 17
Odlin is our moral compass, and the others just follow him.

Initiative: Odlin, Stadvas, Augustine, Ryxikor, Miriam, Monsters AoO result (forgotten in the first round): Augustine misses but Miriam and Stadvas hit, taking half of the swarm down. Odlin was unarmed. Round 4 Starts Odlin, healed by Miriam can shake the nastiness of being covered in these red spider. However his attempt at hurting the swarm falls short. Stadvas is able to shake the poison but being covered by tiny red spiders is too much for the warrior who is fighting to keep his stomach from emptying itself. Augustine’s metabolism resists the poison but he fails to resist the nausea and spend the next 6 second trying not to puke. Ryxikor cannot believe how sticky the web is. He is still unable to free himself from the sticky substance until he remembers some of the teaching he received. Stop fighting and go with the flow his rogue master told him. The rogue stops resisting the web and escape it. Miriam easily fight the confusion created by the spider and squash quite a few with her mace, but not enough to disperse the swarm. The spider swarm attacks the 4 heroes it covers but only the poor Stadvas fell their bite. Suddenly as the bottom of the stairs a spider as big as a horse appears with legs which are 30 feet long. Its body shows signs of injuries, results of Xeron and his group going through here. It looks at the situation and throws a web at Stadvas. The web falls on the warrior and entangles him. Stadvas: – 2 damages – currently at 25/29Round 4 Ends -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC1:Entagled is -4 to dexterity aka -2 to your modifier. OOC2: Stadvas needs to do either a strength check, an escape artist check or tries to break the web with his weapon OOC3: Stadvas needs at fortitude save against poison. OOC4: All 4 adventurers caught in the swarm need to do a fortitude save to avoid being nauseated (DC13)OOC5: Here is a drawing of the critters for effect purposes.

Odlin, now that he is on his feet, is determined to help his friends. He staggers forward then slashes at the red spiders with his ally's dagger
5ft step to C6 melee dagger +2 = AC11 FORT vs poison 8+4=12 drat! if it was a poison save it would be 14! if we all split up the swarm cant engulf us all so easily
