Odlin is in a hurry to go after Jukia although the woman might not be as close as the heroes think she is. However, the wizard intellectual curiosity is picked by the fissure. He looks through and below it looks dark, real dark, as a fissure opening on a tunnel.
Augustine the ranger notices that it is clear that nothing has come nor gone through the fissure for ages other than for insect. Even a very agile Halfling would not be able to get through the small space.
Stadvas stands next with Miriam who is more than happy so heal the warrior. She keeps insisting that he takes off his armor for her to inspect his wounds closely. She uses the wand on him twice and once on Augustine and once on Odlin. She looks at the group indicating that she has 22 charges left in the wand.
Ryxikor is busy looting and find the following: 1 MW chain shirt, 2 MW studded leather, 3 MW Scimitars, 1 Magical Composite Shortbow (+1), 47 arrows; 6 silvered arrows, 1 gold necklace (worth 100GP retail), 3 potions of CMW, 1 Potion of Bull Strength and 120 GP.
Ryxikor also notices that there are caltrops hidden under the straw.
OOC: Cal, please take care of the loot thread. Also, I need people to claim the items i.e. the haversack and the CMW potions

The elf is obviously pleased with the treasures they have been finding, evident by the large smile on his face. Hearing what the backpack is from Miriam, Ryxikor is relieved, he has heard of the magickal haversack and what it is capable of doing, so he understands how it will help carry many of the things they find. He dutifully, and quickly, sheaths and peace-ties all weapons and stores them in the haversack. He rolls the chain shirt and the studded leather armors and slides them into the backpack also. As the others discuss the next plans and get ready to go, the elf collects as many of the caltrops as he can, thinking they will be useful at some point. He bags them and stores them in the haversack.
Once he is finished with all he does, he follows the others.
To me the backpack is really just community stuff to help carry things. I don't know what the wizards STR is, but Ryx is weak, he could use it to lighten his load

"Augustine, this magical bow may be of use to yew you," suggests the dwarf.
Odlin recommends giving the potion of bulls strength to Stadvas and the potions of CMW to Odlin, Aug and Ryx in case the healer should need restoration of her own!
once ready, same marchingorder as before. let's bring our gal home!

After descending the slick and worn steps of the northern hallway, the heroes come to a ledge. On one side of the slick shelf is the waterfall, and on the other is a cavernous -pit. Spikes have been driven into the ledge on the western side nearest the waterfall, and a rope has been threaded through loops in their tops, forming a banister of sorts.
The group is taking in the new scenery, looking for signs of danger and or the poor Jukia. Suddenly the waterfall cries in a gravelly baritone voice “So many visitors this day”. But no, the voice belongs to a ruggedly handsome man who steps from the falls clad in a shirt of shimmering mail. His silvery hair isn't wet, but it cascades over his shoulders in ringlets. A trim beard rounds out his face, accented by a silver chain around his neck from which hangs a pendant shaped like an acorn. Silvery bladed axes hang from a shining belt. His intense eyes are placid pools of blue and white, and he fixes a grim gaze on you, his jaw set. "Tell me, why came you here?"
If you decide to talk to the creature I will need a roll for the skill you are using.

Augustine takes the bow to use until they formally split up the items, and stashes his longbow in the communal haversack. He also replenishes his quiver from those of the varags, keeping track of how many he has taken, so he knows how much of his loot he has already used.
Presented with the mail-clad man in the next room, he stays silent, hoping someone more silvertongued will speak up.
I'll put the total of the arrows up in the loot thread. I think I also took a few from the varags in the water serpent room, but I think I noted those down already.

Stadvas stands by and watches as the stranger who stayed dry after having a waterfall flow over him appears. He waits for the same thing as Augustine.

The man looks at the group, standing the waterfall and somehow still not wet. "What is happening? Have you lost your tongue?"

"To get a friend." Stadvas as briefly as possible explains their reason to be here, since nobody else speaks.

Odlin steps forward and plants his feet firmly on the earth. " I am Odlin the Terramancer on a quest to grant succour and freedom to our captive friend held hostage by malign forces.
If you are allied to that evil then our retribution will be swift and brutal but if not then know that we are here to also bring balance and peace to the resting places of those that have gone before by ending the machinations of those adversaries seeking to despoil these tombs."

"We're chasing the evil-doers!" Ryxikor puts in. The excitable elf then calms down a bit to watch the strangers reation.

Augustine stays silent at the man questions. Stadvas and Ryxikor have short-answers while Odlin is semi-threatening. The man chuckles at the group “So which one is your frined? The evil snake-man? The hobgoblin? The goblin? The evil Halfling? Or the woman who alternate from pure evil from pure goodness? That one was quite interesting. Never seen anything like this before. But she does not seem to be part of the group as she is chained at the neck. So if your friend is one of these five, go ahead, I will not stop you. I know you are good at heart even if the little bearded man tries to act tough.” He winks at Odlin.
Shaking his ample hair which stays wet although the man is in waterfall, the man winks at Miriam. The priestess blushes and says nothing. As the man starts to disappear, he says “good luck saving your friend, assuming he or she survived the nasty foul creature in the next room or if the Betrayer did not slay them.”
The “man” disappears in the waterfall and Miriam cannot shake the feeling that the group poor communication skills hurt their information gathering process.
The group navigates the ledge and reaches a landing of stone so finely polished that it shines like glass, Ahead is a door engraved with a coat of arms containing a crown, a scepter, and a dragon rampant. The door is, however, cracked and broken on its upper corner.

Odlin wants to ask the fey about the Betrayer or even the foul creature in the next room and curses his blunt and ineffectual attempt at diplomacy.
When they get to the door, the wizard reminds them of the waterfall spirit's warning.
"If there is only one creature we can expect it to be powerful.
Do we want to send in a decoy then hit it from behind?"
Odlin readies his cudgel and prepares to follow the others in to the room.

The group inspects the door. It is cracked and broken in one corner and has been opened and closed recently, most liekly by Xeron and his foul group. The door does not look locked. Ryxikor listens to the door and hears nothing.

Ryx inspects the door and door frame more closely for traps, without touching it. "Being so close to Xeron, I'm thinking he could have trapped the door, maybe magickly."
