Augustine draws his sword, and looks worriedly at the combat progressing below.
Perhaps discretion is the better part of valor? We can't all hit these guys, they are hitting for big damage, and the riddle might be saying that this is a wrong way. Even if the ogres squeeze through the passageways, it will take them a while and I doubt they will be able to easily make it up the ladder.
DM Edit: there is only 1 ogre Zombie. He is just Real Big. But Odlin nailed him nicely with his ray. If everyone particpate, you will be fine. And yes, it is the right way .....

Initiative: Augustine, Stadvas, Miriam, Ogre Zombie, Ryxikor, Odlin Augustine draws his sword but waits on the platform. Miriam delays her action until Stadvas acts. The warrior moves 5 feet and attack the zombie. Unfortunately, he is still not very good with the sword. Miriam moves closer to Stadvas and invokes her god to help her heal the warrior. Her god is listening and some of the warrior wounds heal. The ogre zombie swings at Stadvas trying to squish him but the warrior armor protects him. Ryxikor moves closer to the action, ready to dispatch Miriam is she reveals herself as a foe. Odlin moves to the stairs and although his mind is clouded in confusion and hallucinations, he channels his magic long enough to cast a spell on the ogre zombie. The spell is successful and the ogre zombie is suddenly as less formidable enemy. Stadvas: +9HP healing - Currently at 17/29

Once again, Miriam concentrates on retireving a cure spell. She reaches out to Stadvas again and channels positive energy to heal more of his wounds. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AC: 20 HP: 20/20
Standard: Cast Cure Moderate Wounds (give up Shatter) defensively: Concentrate: 29 = 19[d20] + 10 HP to Stadvas: 14 = 4[d8]+7[d8] + 3

The dwarf shudders with the euphoria rushing through his fibre as he wrestles with the magical energies, sucking the ogre of its vigour, making it weaker.
He harries the beast with his cudgel hoping to help stadvas survive longer. Realising that his true calling is the arcane art, he withdraws to let his martial comrades press the fight signalling for augustine or ryx to take his place.
S: aid another to give Stadvas +2AC (failed)
DM Edit: too bad, Stadvas could have used it. M: move to L5 AC18 vs ogre (+1 dodge, +4 cover)
melee attack = 4 = fail

Seeing the reaction of Stadvas to the priestess's touch, it seems she has healed him again, Ryx thinks quickly. Without hesitation, at just about the same time Odlin moves back, Ryxikor darts forward, and squeezes past the fighter, Augustine. The nimble elf skips down the steps and immediately starts defending himself against the undead giant. Ducking and dodging any attacks from the large foe. Unfortunately using the priestess as cover if needed, he then moves as far as he can towards the corner of the room.
init: last HP: 15 AC: 22 (16 +6 total defense) 26 (if +4 for cover is used)
Move action: move down the steps as far as I can get moving east, is that I3 (5' and 5' down steps that take double, then 15' east movement)
DM Edit: Technically you cannot land on I3 because it is occupied but I put you on I2 Standard action: total defense (+4 to AC, +6 if 5 ranks in tumble)

Somewhere between his previous swing, preventing the ogre's attack from forcing useful organs out of his body and his next one, Stadvas shouts one brief "Thanks." towards both spellcasters at once.
Attack roll on ogre: 1d20+5-3 = 10+2 = 12 Damage roll: 1d8+4
HP: 17/29 AC: 20

Initiative: Augustine, Stadvas, Miriam, Ogre Zombie, Ryxikor, Odlin Augustine is still waiting on the platform. The warrior feels his wounds heal and is thankful to Miriam for that. He attacks the zombie with added ferocity but still fails to connect. Miriam stays close to Stadvas and continues healing the warrior. The ogre zombie slams Stadvas and although it is weakened, it is still a formidable foe. Stadvas feels his bones break. Ryxikor, using his agility skills, moves around every one and ends up behind the ogre Zombie. Odlin tries to help Stadvas defends himself and attack the ogre zombie but the dwarf fails in both attempts. Stadvas: +14HP healing and – 11 HP damages - Currently at 20/29

Augustine takes Odlin's spot, and engages the ogre.
I forgot that ogres are large, and take up a 10x10 space, I thought there were four, that explains my worry. Either attack the ogre or aid another, depending on which Ilya would prefer I do. Attack on OZ (1d20+4=22)damage (if needed): 1d8+1 AC: 17 (unless the corner counts as cover) HP: 15

Miriam turns on the zombie, brandishing the dagger she was holding. “By the power of St. Cuthbert, I smite thee!”
Std: Attack zombie: 25 = 15[d20] + 4 + 4(Smite) + 2(flank) Damage: 6 = 1[d4] + 2 + 3(Smite)

The elf, with his back to the corner, is glad he was able to squeeze by the creature with no problems. He quickly attacks and moves, wasting no time. Ryx slashes out with both daggers, then moves to his left five feet.
AC: 16 HP: 15
Full round action: Attack with both daggers Free action: Move 5' north, to H2
1st attack (plain dagger): 1d20(2)+5=7 2nd attack (MW silver dagger): 1d20(20)+4=24
damage on 2nd dagger= 1d4-1
OOC: you cant crit undead can you.....
DM Edit: no you cannot .. too bad

Odlin still buzzes from the surge of magical energies. He therefore waits as his warriorlike allies deal with the living dead
delay
NB: Od is in L5 square
DM Edit: Have Augustine and Odlin switched? Yes. Odlin moved to L5 last round, and this round Augustine moved in to his space.

Despite the fact that he is fighting something that could fill up an entire room by itself, Stadvas has trouble hitting it with the approach he has been using thus far, the approach that looks for damage over precision. He takes much more care to make sure his next attack hits, but he isn't very successful.
1d20+5-1 = 6+5-1 = 10 HP:17 AC: 20
Nodaisho, I prefer the attack.

Initiative: Augustine, Stadvas, Miriam, Ogre Zombie, Ryxikor, Odlin Augustine attacks the ogre zombie and connects, cutting off the dead flesh. Stadvas decides to focus on accuracy over power but to his despair, still fails to connect with the walking dead. Miriam, using the power of goodness attacks the zombie and connects. The dead ogre tries to connect with Stadvas but his drained strength is preventing him from hurting the warrior. Ryxikor, in the back of the ogre zombie attacks it with his two daggers. The first one fails but the second one is perfect, puncturing an organ, if the zombie had any organ. Odlin waits, waiting to see if his warrior friends can deal with the monstrosity by themselves or if they need his help.
OOC: Lefty, I roll damages unless you provide a link to an invisible castle roll. Also, can you explain to me how a regular cleric can smite? I thought it was a paladin only ability. OOC2: Sorry about no posting yesterday but I was coachign and winning a soccer (football) tournament,

Augustine slashes again at the zombie, but his blade deflects off the tough hide of the ogre.

Stadvas makes another attempt at hitting the large undead with his sword and hopes he won't get hit himself, because the ogre can hit hard.
1d20+5-1 = 8+5-1 = 12
