OOC: Can Miriam help Stadvas climb back up to the platform with some type of skill check?
DM Edit: Successful aid another will give him a +2

Having flesh, this is an opponent that, apart from being unpleasantly large, is more vulnerable to cuts than to beatings. Stadvas understands that, even if he gets help, he is likely to fall, and he can't risk that, so he drops his beloved flail, draws his sword and readies the shield on which Jukia's signature still lies. Then, he prepares to take a strike back at the ogre if he is still standing to do so. The warrior thanks Kord for Miriam's timely arrival. Without her, he wouldn't stand a chance.
Even with a +2 aid another from Miriam, I would have a -6 modifier. Which means I'd need to roll more than 16. That's 4/5 chance that Stadvas hits the floor. Hence: Free action: drop flail Move action: ready shield Free action: quickdraw longsword.
HP: 22/29 AC: (Bronk's shield was Wooden Heavy, right?) 20
Now, assuming that the zombie is going to H-I 3-4, Stadvas should get cover, which would turn his AC into 24. It can't charge into H-I 4-5 because then its upper right part would go trough G5. And there's some wall there. Continuing the assumption: Ready action: when the undead arrives, take a 5-ft step to I5 and attack it with Power Attack 2. Attack roll: 1d20+3 = 2+3 = 5 Hm. That's not going to hit, is it? Oh well, it was worth a try.

Odlin has been quiet, not even responding to Augustine's query. The dwarf silently follows his friend's staying close to Stad and Aug in particular. Sometimes he throws a glance at the sturdy new cleric but never for too long; his face a spectrum of false recognition and recurring uncertainty. At times his lips mouth silent words and the little man descends in to a darkness within his clouded consciousness. Not even the threat of the undead giant makes the dwarf react with more than a passive stare

Ryxikor and Augustine watch the action unfold in front of them. Odlin is going deeper into his illusionary world. Miriam wonders if she can help or not Stadvas. The fighter decides to go to the ogre zombie level and attack him. Unfortunately, Stadvas is not that familiar with the sword and his swing is not that precise. The ogre zombie swings at Stadvas but the swings is imprecise and misses easily. Initiative Rolls please.
OOC: WElcome back Cal. That was sooner than expected.

Augustine draws his sword as he runs to help Stadvas, not realizing how many zombies are in the room. "That's a lot of rotting flesh," he says as he takes a swing at the nearest one Initiative roll (1d20 + 3=21)attack on OZ (1d20 + 4=14)Damage 1d8+1 AC:17 HP: 15 I am very glad we just got a cleric, turn undead could come in handy right now.

Miriam, her holy symbol still in her hand from healing Stadvas, brings it to bear on the undead beast.
“Foul undead creature, I cast thee away!”
Initiative: 10 = 10[d20] + 0
AC: 20 HP: 20/20
Standard: Turn OZ Turning Check: 17 = 17[d20] + 0 => (Cleric’s level + 2) = 5 (turn OZ if 5HD or less) Turning Damage (HD): 10 = 6[d6]+1[d6] + 3 (destroy if OZ is 5HD or less)
Move: 5' step to J-5

Odlin watches the combat play out, letting the voices buzz around him like insects on a summer's day. He isn't sure what to make of any of this. Is that the antechamber of the great hearthhall of his home? And his brother has surely grown and taken a liking to the heavy blade? No, maybe not. Jukia looks different and she's talking to an elf. The wizard looks at his hands and wonders why he is clutching a crude club or an overly cumbersome wand then returns his melancholic gaze to the undead ogre.
init = delay OOC: WElcome back Cal. That was sooner than expected. Did you think i was going to get shot in the head or something? mind you, there were times i thought i would be, not inc the jay walking escapades or wandering in to townships on my own gibbering in a foreign accent

Ryxikor, with his inherent grace, seems to glide down the last of the steps. He gingerly steps over and around the bone fragments and shards of the finally deceased wolves. Still wondering about this new addition to the group as he begins to start down the next steps, with remnants of the line 'the passage you seek is not below' still in his head. Once he hears then sees the ogre zombies, 'the work of an evil cleric', shouts in his head. The stealthy elf drops his short bow and arrow amongst the bones and draws his rapier. Ryx slowly looks up, to the back of the head of Miriam. The thief then grips his dagger in his left hand, his knuckles turning white as he grips it tightly and yanks it free from it's sheath. His gaze drops to her armor. As she moves her arms to turn the monsters, Ryx stares at the crease in her armor under her armpit and thinks how easy it would be to slip his dagger there and reach her heart. As the others move to attack the large zombies, Ryxikor watches the new priestess carefully and closely, making sure she is in fact helping the cause and not directing the undead they have been fighting in this mausoleum.
init: +3, hold to see what happens HP: 15/15 AC: 16 Free action: drop bow and arrow Move action: draw weapons OOC: Any question about order, Ryx will always be last. 1. he has crappy HP. 2. When they move into battle, maybe he can slip in, circle around, then wreak havoc from behind. So being the perfectionist I am Achi (you and Cal already know that, lol) Ryx should be where Augustine is, closest to the last steps.

Stadvas doesn't have much of a choice any more. All he can do is hope that his sword will cut flesh and all the immense zombie hits will be shield and perhaps some armour. So he does exactly what he can, he swings his blade again at the lumbering monstrosity.
Init: 1d20 = 5 Attack roll on the zombie: 1d20+5-2 = 18+5-2 = 21 Damage: 1d8+4

Initiative: Augustine, Miriam, Stadvas, Ogre Zombie, Ryxikor, Odlin Augustine shoots at the mass of decaying flesh but the monster hide is too hard for his arrow. Miriam invokes to power of her god to turn the zombie away. However, her god is probably not listening as the ogre zombie does not react. Stadvas attacks the zombie as slices a piece of it but there is so much flesh that the monster barely notices. The ogre zombie slams Stadvas very violently and the fighter feels the pain of the hit. Bones are broken and blood is flowing through his armor. Odlin is lost in his thoughts, not noticing that his friend Stadvas is getting plummeted. Ryxikor, not sure he can trust Miriam looks at her do her magic. He realizes that there is an evil cleric at work, who seems to leave undead obstacles behind her/her as the group is hot on the grave robbers tails. Stadvas: -14HP of damages – Currently ay 8/29
OOC: This monster is for real. It is not one you take one on one. Unless you want to see Stadvas die.

Miriam concentrates, putting the undead thing out of her mind. She draws a dagger with one hand as she reaches out to Stadvas’ back with the other and attempts to heal his wounds as he faces the zombie.
AC: 20 HP: 20/20
Action: Delay until after Stadvas (Init: 4) Move: Move to I-5, drawing dagger Standard: Cast Cure Moderate Wounds (give up Zone of Truth)defensively: Concentrate: 29 = 19[d20] + 10 HP to Stadvas: 9 = 5[d8]+1[d8] + 3

Languidly Odlin watches his brother die again. Fighting against a mass of goblins as strike after strike rips the gore from his defiant flesh, never giving in despite the treacherous onslaught. But the large zombie ogre. That was something new. It wasn't there the first time. Were things really diffrent now? Maybe his brother was meant to live now. Fate conspiring to wrench the multiverse back to a new path. Well that was why he had studied surely? to make it all change, make it all different? He couldn't pick up a maul or don chainmail but he could wrestle with the laws of reality. He would master that which was unseen and not meant for sensible minds. Yes. Maybe this way was a new beginning. And penance for not dying with the others at least. Drawing himself up to his full height he strides forth as dazzling rainbow hues spark from his hand. " Press the attack! I shall wrestle this brute's might from it!" CONDITION Aif stadvas and mirriam take 5ft steps to attack the ogre then Odlin will move to J5 and cast Ray of enfeeblement (cover granted by Miriam = i am immune to AoO from OZ for movement, spellcasting and making ranged attacks. i can target a part of OZ that means the only cover it gets is from miriam) CONDITION Bif I5 is available when it comes round for Odlin's actions, he will bravely dart forward, casting his RoE on the defensive (again being immune from AoO vs movement but not spellcasting or making a ranged attack in this situation) Concentration check: ( ONLY if needed by Condition B) = 4+8 +4 = 16 ( oops!) spell goes fizz!!!! forgot the combat casting! yay! spell works! OZ gets AoO if i make a ranged attack AND i do not have cover from miriam but at least spell goes off Ranged Touch attack (Ray of Enfeeblement) = 14 + 2 = AC16 Effects of RoE = target loses 1d6+1 strength DM Edit: It should be 1d6 + 2 as Odlin is Level 3
AC13 vs OZ (if the zombie retains its Giant-subtype then i get a further +4 dodge bonus to my AC! check the monster entry in the adventure plz)

Attempting to fight the pain and ignore the vital fluids sloshing around in his armour, Stadvas makes room for Miriam to engage in melee and takes another swing at the ogre.
5-ft step to H5 Roll attack: 1d20+5-3=9+5-3=11
AC 20 HP 8/29
*gulp*

Diaphenous entities of the cosmos stir and spark a moment of awareness in the fuddled mind of a dwarven terramancer. No-one will ever know why these sublimed forces took an interest but the result was to remind the plucky adventurer that he was not a dwarven warrior but a student of the arcane. His training of mysteries beyond the ken of mere men would aid him in combat, not the paltry wood that he hefted in his hands
added my combat casting to my concentration check

His head feels as though it were on a swivel, quickly turning to look over his right shoulder, Good no-one coming down the steps, then jerking back to see what the new priestess is doing. What is she up to? he wonders as he watches her draw a dagger and approach Stadvas, She didn't turn any of them, did she heal Stadvas? The poor young elf, thoughts swirling through his head, then he suddenly sees Stadvas's body jolt from a heavy handed hit from the monstrosity they are facing. Ryxikor sheaths his rapier and draws his other dagger, a finely crafted weapon with a silvered blade. He moves closer to the steps to either help his friends with the undead or with a deceiving priestess. Holding both daggers tightly, he glances over his shoulder again.
The passage you seek is not below......
