If we used the table, all we need is the table top, which is something i had considered. Just take the top off the rest of the table and throw it down over the caltrops and use it to walk over. I dont know what the weight would be, and a couple of archers would be good to hold off enemy fire, that only leaves 3 to move the table top. Another range weapon is the flasks of oil, could make a maltov cocktail, my character might even have a smoke stick to make cover.

so far the table top plan sounds cool and the butch & sundance break for feedom is the way to go!
i'm up for the throwing the tabletop down and using it for at least one square of [painfree] movement - not usre it will cover the whole corridor or even reach the goblinoids. or we can use it like a shield and attack from behind it as we run away??

Huh, Ilya was right, I was wrong. Could have sworn that there was an upper limit of how thick a shoe sole could be to be effective, but it just says the DM gets to choose if something doesn't work, giving an example of a fire giant's shoes being too thick.
The table is 15x10 feet, it covers the whole distance to the goblins, but it would need maneuvering to fit, or it could just be slid out into the corridor, which would give a corner by the far wall accessible with no caltrops. The space is occupied by an enemy, though, so he would have to be dead for clear movement.
Is there anything we could prop up the dead goblin with? If so, we could open the doors with him as bait for the javelins, if they go for it, good, if they don't, we still hit them with acid and flaming oil, until we run out of those, slide out the table, mop them up, then get out of there through the spider hole.
The table seems a bit big to carry around as effective cover, the corridor is only 10 feet wide, and I doubt the ceiling is tall enough to accomodate it.

So we're at a stalemate. What's the plan?

Sorry for the delay, i'll post this afternoon. I think we should move the table a little and wipe out the goblin, then its just us and the 2 hobgoblins.

as an FYI, I am waiting for Ilya to post before posting. If he does not post I will NPC him tomorrow.
Also, Puff, if you want to do that, you need to spend 3 round studying the table. Then you can strike through the table with a malus. You can keep your rolls for this one or for another attack.

Waiting for No to post. I assume Brettnor is gone. If one of you want to RP his character, I would do the roll.
I am just annoyed I got rid of my favorite Jukia for Brettnor Cleric and now he disappears.

He has not posted in a long time after indicating he had a baby. He probably hs no time. A quick goodbye would have been nice.
but the worst is all the nastiness I did to Jukia for nothing yet .. well not really ... she will be the link to our next adventure after you finally solve the issue of the Howling Horde.

I am not. I will wait until no one is left playing 3.5. I have seen some of the new rules which i have problem with, such has the find every class can heal itself between rounds.
To me it is a marking ploy by WOTC to generate sales only.

I'm not, but I haven't been paying much attention to it, this is my only D+D game going, otherwise I am more interested in D20 modern, for all its flaws, there is just something awesome about the potential of fighting a red dragon with magical dual-wielded handguns. And, of course, I am a broke 16-year-old, even if I got a job, a whole new set of books is not something I want to buy with my very limited funds.
Achinca, you will know it is a cash grab if they do come out with a 4.5, even though they have said they won't since the first announcement about 4E.
Sorry about missing yesterday, don't have an excuse.

No, don't worry about missing a post. It happens once in a while.

So I am still not clear about what you want to do next. Do you send the goblin alone? Do you go with him? do you meet Urrtarr outside? Do you meet her in the Howlings Caves? How much time you give her? Let me know. Alain PS: As an inceintve, once you resolve the situation, you will get your XP for the previous fight.
