Well, group? Should we fight in the corridor or move into the chamber? I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few enemies in the chamber, but we would be very crowded in the corridor, only one person would be able to fight the thing at a time, though Jukia could stand behind Stadvas and keep him healed. The main cause for worry would be it climbing up the walls, but Odlin and Augustine could ready actions to attack it if the spider went up over Stadvas's head.

I think we best get to the cave. In the corridor, one of us can fight the spider, while in the cave, we can mob the animal, kill it off more quickly, then move on to the next one.

So, I figure we ought to post here rather than in the game thread, to avoid clutter. I am thinking first we cut up the furs to add to the thickness of our characters' shoes (I think the soles have to be thicker than 1 inch), using strips of the furs to tie them on. Then, we first use the acid flasks on the hobgoblins, after which, we charge in and kill them.

remember we can avoid all the damage/effects of the caltrops if we move slowly and carefully

I still have two Alchemist's Fires... We can try using a goblin for illumination, like Nero. But we'll need a relatively good thrower. Since there's a 5 feet range, we could, hit something, even in the darkness. Avoiding the caltrops gives one problem: those moving trough the caltrops will be used for target practice by the goblins. If our rogue manages to sneak out and clear a part, so our movement is at least less slowed down, we can counter that problem.

ok hears my theory on this, so far all we have talked about is advancing on the goblins, so my theory on this is this
firstly we are in a room with only one actual etrance, 5 feet wide so only one person at a time may come through. lets use that to our advantage, we move the table to funnel them so when they do come through they will be stuck.
ok to get them to come in we aggrovate them, one of us speaks goblin so we get him to try to coucher(i hope i spelt that right Ryx please say if i havent) them in with words of surrender etc.
When the first enters we have one either side of them and we sneak attack them. I will stick close by to give healing support. The ranger sits the other side of the room to fire on the unexpected goblin if he doesnt die
well thats theory one
theory two,
we see what magic we have, i cant rem if goblins will be blinded by a sharp light as one of my skills is light i could light the corridor so they are blinded for a little while then using the fur idea we charge them
any comments are ok

the goblinoids are affected by caltrops too
how many rounds if we move slowly south (AWAY from them) and around the corner?
remember that we know of the secret tunnel from bronk's room so we could flank them if they dont want to come after us through the caltrops
could we carry a big heavy table as a impropmtu tower-shield as we escaped?

Well, since Stadvas is wearing heavy armor, he'll have to move at 10 feet (30 feet base, 20 because of the armour, halved to 10) a round, which means he'll need 3 rounds to get on caltrop-less ground, and 4 to get around the corner. If we drag the table over the floor, which will of course give a sound that eliminates all possible subtlety, it can weigh up to 1000 pounds. If it needs to be carried off ground, the max is 400 pounds.

Why not use the thickening shoe soles thing like I mentioned? Stadvas could go 20 feet per round that way, but I am thinking that they will likely have actions readied to perforate the first one they see. Perhaps they would throw at a decoy? We could stick the goblin's corpse just barely out, and if they throw at it, they used up their readied actions. With thick soles, we have the advantage when it comes to navigating the caltrops, and I really don't want to wait around for the dragon to come and make us snacks.

ok i forgot about the dead goblin we have, well i dont reckon the goblins have seen us yet so we could try and use the dead goblin as a decoy by saying that he and his pet have vanquished us, they will think oh great and come in then we just jump them.

Guys, good luck with the fight, whatever you decide to do. Be careful, don't get anyone killed that is not goblinoid, and don't do anything stupid. This is the last post I will make before my leaving, I thought I should tell you. Nodaisho, I personally don't think a 12 AC (10 base and 2 for the shoes) is safe enough to move normally, but it's up to the group. Camdrom, that'd be a great idea if we would have someone to impersonate the cook. I am, however, afraid that no-one among us can imitate a voice after hearing it once. Also, if you're going to do this subtly and try to have anyone sneak out in the darkness, don't forget to make sure there's plenty of shadow just outside the door to ensure a safe exit.
Lastly, I've updated the character sheet link on my character's description for whoever wants to take Stadvas while I'm away. Have fun!
