As the sun's early rays flow over her, memories flow into Alyana's consciousness, of how the magician who had hired them gave them a detailed description of a dwarf, with black hair and a goatee, named Bof-Anssun...- The rooster is apparently having a great time, as it keeps on crowing and crowing, waking up anyone who hasn't been woken up yet- The dwarf was the wizard's apprentice, and was last seen somewhere in this region. She remembers how the wizard had described the attire he had left in, and even found an earth-coloured robe like the one Bof-Anssun had left in. A gentle breeze from the forest to the west gently blows over the rural landscape, cool enough to be invigorating, but not cold enough to be unpleasant.
Just in case you had forgotten and that was a subtle hint.

Alyana turns toward Talea, Barrendd and Theo. "How about we get some breakfast and go look for that apprentice? We need a black hair dwarf with a goatee in an earth colored robe. Any idea where we can start looking? Talea, how about we use your ranger skills after breakfast?"

Taliea is glad that Alyana seems to be in a more talkative mood this morning. "That's a very good idea Alyana, perhaps we can ask around the village if anyone has seen a dwarf matching that description. I'll keep an eye out for any clues, but indeed, let us have breakfast first," she grins and heads toward the house, figuring the rooster's crowing must have awakened the family too.

The family has indeed woken up, but probably not due to the rooster's crowing, or they would have had to get up very quickly. The two sons have already left the house, and when the adventurers come into the house, they see the father of the family put on his vest and generally prepare to leave. "Mornin'. Slept well?" he greets them, one arm in an uncomfortable position as they catch him right in the middle of dressing. While he finishes doing that, he pulls away from the table with his food. "You should eat somethin' b'fore ya leave." His wife appears through the room, and presses her hand against her lips. "Oh, sorry." Svan says, making an effort to speak more quietly. "Th' youngest's still 'sleep, try not t'make too much noise." The effort is not particularly successful, and his wife cringes slightly.

Alyana apologizes for the noise she is making "I am sorry M'am. I would like a nice breakfast if possible. Also, do you have a sense of where the mage apprentice went? We need a starting point and may be my ranger friend can get a sense of where he went. "
She enjoys the breakfast, eating double "You truely are a fantastic cook M'am "

Taliea sits down quietly, tucking into her breakfast and trying not to make too much noise. She awaits a reply from Svan regarding any information on the wayward apprentice.

"No, we haven't really seen him." The woman shakes her head. "'E's been in the village a few days back, I heard, but that's all I can tell ya. I 'eard he was buyin' all the chickens he could get fer some reason. You should ask 'round, maybe someone knows where he went..."

Theo thinks on this and prepares to leave with the others. He thanks the family for their gracious hospitality and is ready to take off to investigate the disappearance.

"Yes, let's ask around. Do you know who supplied the chickens he was after?" Taliea asks, figuring that might be a good place to start.

Svan simply raises his shoulders, showing that he obviously doesn't have a shadow of a clue. but then his wife comes to the heroes' rescue. "I believe the Vessnits sold him some of theirs, among others..." she says. Pointing at the wall, she explains, "It's a house in that direction. Third house on the right if you walk out the door and turn right immediately."

Alyana thanks the farmer and his wife and inquire if any of them or their children or their livestock is in need of healing.
After that she walks toward the house saying to no one in particular "What would the apprentice buy all these chicken? Magicians are truely strange and hard to understand, if that is even possible. "

Theodorre frowns as his mind wanders back to past days and adventures. "I was adventuring with a group during my youth, and we were atacked by giant chickens. Seems it was some wizard's joke. But they destroyed the landscape, harrassed everyone, and were just a nuisance. I actually ha an egg laid on me, it was not a pretty site."
As they search for the house, Theo asks anyone they pass by if they know anything of the stranger named Bof Anssun, who collects chickens.

A woman with graying hair appears in the door and answers that everyone and everything is quite healthy and they don't need any help, but that it's very kind to offer. The scarce villagers they encounter don't seem to recall the name, or even to ever have heard it. From the answers you're given, however, it becomes clear that a stranger matching Anssun's description did come into the village, buying any chickens he could find, as well as two pigs. One man mentions, with annoyance, that his chickens were stolen around the time the stranger was in town, and it's clear he, to say the least, suspects the apprentice may have something to do with it.
As they search for the house, Theo asks anyone they pass by if they know anything of the stranger named Bof Anssun, who collects chickens. I've taken the liberty of rolling Gather Information. You got 22.

Alyana shakes her head "A magician apprentice stealing chickens and buying pigs. I will never understand those mages. Does anyone remember the direction he took the last time they saw him? Where did he store the chicken and pigs? Did he have them with him when he left?"

As they wander from house to house, Taliea studies the ground for footprints, seeing if she work out which (if any) may belong to the wayward apprentice.
