Alyana smiles ... "IT surely did .... it won't be happy ... but if it did anything to the silly apprentice, he will be sorry .....

Theodorre eyebrows slowly raise, as if something is starting to clarify itself to the wizard. "What if that was magically locked, to keep something in there from getting out." he states, starting to wonder if they should worry about what may happen next or if something menacing does come out. The mage backs away from the 'doors', letting the others try and open it.

Alayan winks at Theodore "Well if that is the cause ..... great. The more dangerous the merrier ..... It has been a while since I hit evil with my mace ..

Taliea laughs at Theodorre and Alyana's remarks, "'curiosity killed the cat' or so the humans like to say". She quickly draws her composite bow incase a dangerous creature comes bounding out of the room.

The heroes succeed in pushing one of the massive stone doors half open, creating enough of an opening to squeeze into the next room. Though they can hear nothing through the opening, in the next room's darkness, somewhere further, they hear a sound that could be a humanoid voice. After a few seconds of stressful silence, interrupted only by that distant murmuring, there is once again the drip of water. Or maybe it's metal once again?

Taliea listens closely, trying to guage the distance the sound is coming from, and get a better idea of what it might be. She also tries to hear the humanoid voice better, seeing if she can discern what is being said, or what the language may be.
Listen check please +6

The sound is coming from somewhere deeper in the complex. With the door only half open like this, however, it is impossible to see that way. It still seems to be quite far away, however, and at times falls beyond abilities of the heroes' ears.
This sound is unmistakeably metallic in nature. Theodorre, in fact, seems to hear some breathing, although the others hear nothing of the sort. ((If you look at the map at page 8, you've half opened the door in column 27. The sound is coming from roughly the left, which is right for the characters as they're coming from above. If you're going in, I'm going to need the order in which you squeeze through.))

Barrend volunteers to go first, guisarme held defensively in front of him with one hand, potion held in another.
If he goes through, he'll be in full defense, AC 25
I don't see a door in column 27, I see the door in 24 and 25. Am I misreading it?

Alyana will go last, ready to heal any heroes that get hurt. Shield and mace ready to inflict some whooping if needed.
She will wait until everyone get in and will follow, secretely hoping that the door does not close behind her.

Theodorre, usually an easy one to get hit in the heat of battle, enters the makeshift door second to last, just before Alyana. He grips a thick masterfully crafted quarterstaff in his left hand, clutching it tightly. In his right hand he holds a wand, with an intricate design etched into the last few inches at the tip of the magical device, that looks like the carving of webbing. As he enters, he quickly peeks around any corners to see what may be hidden. Suddenly, his keen hearing picks up a faint sound, "Psst." he tries to whisper to the others, "I hear something. It sounds a lot like....breathing." The half elf's mind starts to wander, wondering if they could run into something so big, it's breathing can be heard from a distance.

Taliea takes the second spot in the marching order, following directly behind the Dwarf, bow still drawn.
Spot and Search, looking for any visual clues. +6 and +5 respectively.

The heroes squeeze themselves through the now half-open massive doors, and enter the next room of this peculiar complex. There are no stalagmites or stalactites in this room, that's completely obvious. Taliea's examination of the dark room (I forgot... what are you using for lighting again?) shows much less scraping marks along the walls. They seem very smooth here, not as if they've been polished, but more like a river's bedding. To most, the silence is heavy here, broken by only the dripping of something -it feels too thick and gooey to be water, though it is transparent- from a few spots in the ceiling. Taliea discovers that there are small puddles of the stuff on the ground, too. (If you hear or see anything interesting and not trivial, it will be sent to you in PM. Check your PMs!) The few loose rocks and pebbles that can be found here are rounded, fitting the impression of a river's passage.

Barrend turns towards the group and whispers "I hear something. It's quiet, sounds like metal clinking. Someone's talking, can't tell what they're saying, but they don't sound likely to stop any time soon."
He continues walking on point unless someone wants to scout ahead, his darkvision coming in handy.

Taliea gingerly picks up a piece of rusted metal which looks to be the rusty remains of a sword. She looks at her fingers and you realise they're covered in the gooey liquid. She sniffs the liquid, then wipes her hand on her trouser leg. Holding it up she whispers, "Hmm, what do you make of this?"
Any effect from having the stuff on my hands? *hopes it's not corrosive* Can I discern anything from having sniffed it? I also don't remember what we were using for lighting...
