Taliea heaves a sigh of relief on seeing the Kurt landing on his feet at the bottom of the pit not bad for a half-orc. She can barely believe his luck. Seeing that he begins climbing unaided, she offers him a hand to help him out as he approaches the top of the pit.
OOC: sorry i didn't post last night i took a "nap" and ended up waking up at nearly midnight at which point i decided i should probably go straight to bed. Taliea has a rope too, if it becomes necessary...

Barendd volunteers to help hold the rope, to help Kurt back up.
Strength 19, not sure whether it is a matter of carrying capacity or a strength check.
Is this game going to be post every day, or every weekday? Just want to know, so I don't let people down. I'll be gone tomorrow (sunday) either way.

Kerzeme stands by and watches. The fact he owns a magic rope that would probably help a lot here does not seem like an important thing to mention.

While the others stand atop the edge of the pit, and Theo and Kerzeme stroll the distance over, Kurt slowly makes his way thru the rusted spikes trying to disecern any kind of information he can. The sodden ground is soft and damp from the rains the day before and he has to pick carefully thru the debris that crashed below with him. After inspecting the spikes, Kurt is pretty sure he knows the shoddy craftsmenship, orcish blades. Once he is finished his search and ready to climb out, Kurt steps up to the sheer wall of the pit and looks for handholds. As he steps around looking for a suitable place to climb, he kicks a board that somehow he overlooked in his previous search. Picking up the board and turning it over, the half orc can planely see scratching in the surface, in a language he can understand, orc. Roughly, translated it says, 'Haha haha you fall down.'
Once ready to finally get out of the pit, Taliea is gracious enough to offer the use of her rope, she pulls it out of her pack. With Barrend bracing and holding the rope, Kurt can finally climb out of th epit. Kerzeme stands watching, not offering any help, while Theodorre shields his eyes from the sun's rays as he searches the skies. Just as he is close to the edge, the wait of Kurt hampers the efforts nd Barrens stumbles a bit causing Kurt to fumble with the rope, ultimately falling back in the trap. This time not so lucky. The half orc slightly twisted his ankle, causing him to hop back, tripping over a spike and landing on the ground.
An unseen flock of birds lift off from their perches in the trees, at the loud painful grunt Kurt lets out, when he sits up and sees the spike sticking out of his right thigh, blood slowly starting to soak his breeches.
Kurt: -8 HP damages (-2 fall, -6 spike)

Kurt accepts the hurt graciously without blaming his comrades, they were only trying to help after all. He girds his loins then decides to climb out of the pit under his own steam carefully using the side wall of the pit to brace against as he hauls on the rope.

Taliea winces on behalf of Kurt, "Gosh, I'm so sorry. Here take this," she rumages in her pack again once Kurt is safely out of the pit and produces a small bottle with a handwritten label "Cure Light Wounds".

If, and when, Kurt comes out of the pit he thanks the half-elven woman warmly for the healing potion.
"There are others who may be of greater need. I shall let you hang on to this for when my predicament is grave indeed."
Kurt has a potion of healing, makes sense to keep yours for someone unconscious etc

Kurt makes it out of the pit, leg bleeding, pride injured but intact. He stands on the pit's edge with the others. Finally, Theo speaks up, "What shall we do next?"

Alyana rushes at Kurt's side. "No one is going anywhere until I take care of the wounds." Addressign the half-orc "You big Oaf, need to be more careful."
She puts her one hadn on Kurt's wound and with the other hand raises her holy symbol. "By the Power of Corellon Larethian, makes whar was once whole repaired and healed again".
She casts CLW: +d8 +6 = 7+6 = 13. (drops shield of faith)

Kerzeme doesn't even appear interested, he spends a while watching the skies. He comments the elf's desire to help their ally with a careless "Sure, go ahead."

"Hmm, well only if you insist," Taliea says to Kurt, only returning her potion to the pack once she's sure he doesn't need it. She feels better about it once Alyana does her magic. Having joined the group late, Taliea waits for the others to decide what they want to do next.

The rogue licks his lips and eyes the cavern.
"This pit is an example of shoddy workmanship. Orc made I think and I would like to question the builders with my glaive."

"Orc, you said Kurt? Too bad. I was in the mood to smash goblin skulls. I am always in the mood to smash goblin skull. Do you want to go ahead and give us a sense of what we are facing? It is time we have some heroic acts to inspire bards ....."
Alyana winks at her friends and then look at the rest of the group. She nods at Barennd to be ready to use his mighty skill and smiles at Taliea.
"It is so strange to have a female half-elf around. I have been alone or next male for so long. May be we can become and may be she will be the one able to help put what happened in the sunless citadel behind me."
She lokos at THeo and Kerzeme with a perplex look. "I wonder how these mages will do in the heat of battle ...."

"Yeah, it's probably a good idea if you head forward and find out what's waiting for us further." Kerzeme agrees. He shows no inclination whatsoever to get into the heat of battle and show how he does there.

"I'll follow," the dwarf says, "might want me far back enough not to get noticed, though."
So, what do we see, anyway? Besides the pit trap, what did we find?
