Kurt is happy to be laconic and allow others to take charge. He knows his moment of glory will come and feels reassured to have Alyanna is with him. At least his cairn will be broad and high and marked with a magnificent slate. They might even sing songs about the headstone...
He doesn't voice his opinion that perhaps Theo and his familiar should act as scout seeing as they are rubbish at being sentries. The rogue isn't angry nor disappointed at Theo. Everyone must have something they are good at and the half-orc feels it is only fair to give the magician a chance to prove himself or die trying like any brave hero would.

She looks at the half-elf woman and the dwarf again before opening her backpack and grabbing some nuts, . Kurt is glad that Alyanna isn't holding any grudges against Theo Although his blood begins to boil when he hears her talk of the cowardly and ignoble Astar the Ash-hole

Keen to please her new comrades, Taliea accepts Kerzeme's suggestion and heads south with Barendd. "They seem like a friendly bunch, right?" she says to him once out of earshot. "It can be nice having company on the road, it makes a refreshing change from travelling alone." She keeps her eyes on the ground, looking for anything out-of-place.

The newly formed group of six adventurers spread out, per Zermere's request, and start searching the area for any kind of clue. Theodorre, walking off with Zermere, claps the man on the back, "So sir Zermere, where were you educated in the fine arts of magick?".
A while goes by while everyone searches, finding branches littering the floor, and anything to be found must be uncovered from the branches. Scattered around the area are pieces of debris, such as wood and maybe a nail here and there. Finally you conclude a building was here before, but before what, the earthquake? Suddenly, Theo yells out, "Alyanna, there," pointing south in the air, he quickly looks over his shoulder, and realizes the others are searching down, while Theodorre, is actually looking up. As he sees the elf with the brute and remembers his search partner is Zermere, Theo lowers his arm, and his gaze, muttering to himself, "It's another flock of birds.", thinking she might appreciate it like he does.
A few minutes later, looking over the cliff, Taleia sees what looks like bigger pieces of planking, maybe pieces of walls or floors. She can't tell for sure, as it's too far down and the cliff juts out at points making it difficult to see.
Then, suddenly, while Kurt meanders about, daydreaming of songs to honor his death, Alyanna yells out, pointing past the half orc, to an object barely sticking out of the broken branches, twenty feet away.
OOC: Thanks for your search rolls Achinca, She Elf, Noda, u rock!! ;D

Barendd grunts his agreement with Taliea. "Nice enough. Don't know I'd trust that Theo in a pinch, though. Don't seem experienced." Knocking a piece of scrap aside, he sighs. "Can't find a thing, you?"

As Theo calls her and points to the flock of bird, rage goes to the elf eyes. She whispers in his ears "Theo, please focus on the task at hand. Another galliventing or waste of our time and I will make the little brother between your legs look like my ears! Understood? Focus, Focus, Focus!"
As she walks away from him, she sees Taliea and winks at her.
She moves toward Kurt "I am concerned about Theo. He is his worst ennemy right now and I wonder how he would do in battle. I hope he will not be a liability."
Suddenly she notices a abject pointing and calls the entire group attention to it.

"Educated? I need no education!" Kerzeme replies. When the object is discovered, he immediately begins moving towards it, but then he hesitates and waits for the others to go first in examining it.
It's Kerzeme, no Zermere.

"A lot of planks. There could have been a house here" Taliea says thoughtfully. Wondering about the fate of the people who'd lived there, her eyes on the gaping crack in the ground; she shudders. At Alyana's yell, the half-elf goes over to see what the fuss about. She smirks at Alyana's threat to Theo. "You sure told him", she says in her deep voice, grinning.

Kurt is happy to let the brainy investigators look at the new discovery. His mind remains focused on watching the perimeter so that an opportunity for a good scrap doesn't pass him by. He follows the elfwoman. watching her move gracefully and berate the half-elf wizard. Eventually he pipes up " Even as children who try to climb the tallest tree, we seek to prove ourselves for we do not know where we excel. We push ourselves to discover who we are.
Give him a chance to find himself for he is our comrade and has put his life in our hands. The fires of combat will forge his character." The half-orc looks at the neurotic man with compassion and brotherly affection.

"Yeah. Wow. You found wood in a forest. Impressive." Kerzeme comments sarcastically when he sees what they have discovered. He shrugs and adds, "They could have fallen off a wagon."
I was going to roll my skills one post later than you wanted me to, because I thought Kerzeme would start giving orders first and working later, so I expressed this. It is his nature.

Alyana smiles at Taliea "You know men. They always need to be put back in their place and if they worry about their manhood, they are not busy doing stupid things."
She winks at Kurt "I know, I know about Theo He is trying his best but it is not enough yet. And I like to give him a hard time. Trust me, it will appreciate when I'm nice to him twice as much."
She looks at Kerzeme with a perplex look "So your magic is inside you. So you must have may be some dragon ... or kobold blood in you ..... just kidding! ..and by the way, I did not know a tree that grew plank and other man-made piece of wood." She gives him a big smile as she is having a blast toying with her new companions. She has missed that level of friendship.

Hmm, that's the second threat she's made about her ears Theo thinks to himself, as he tries to sneak a pee at her ears. Unconcsciously, Theodorre rustles his own hair a bit, making sure the soft points of his own don't show, as he still tries to hide his elven characteristics. Serious, seriou, serious, no-one has time to smell the roses As he searches the now boring ground, Theodorre looks up to Kerzeme, thinking how the human must really like him, as he requested Theo to search with him. Not even considering, the facts that the half elf ranger and the dwarf have been traveling together, and Kurt and Alyanna have known each other for what seems like longer. Nope, none of that, it must be that he just really likes Theo, Theodorre thinks. So when the others move to what Alyanna has found, Theo moves closer to Kerzeme. Not wanting to raise the ire of the others, he quietly strikes up more conversation, suspecting Kerzeme maybe be what his teachers told him about. "No schooling, wow. I myself attended the Silvermoon Mage Academy. If you don't mind my asking, where does your magic come from? I mean how do you know how to cast spells?" Theo asks, struggling for the right words. As Theodorre and Kerzeme make their way to the finding, slower than the others, as Kerzeme seems to slow down.
The rest of the group move in to investigate what Alyanna's sharp eyes spotted. Once she points, to the object, and yells to the others, Taliea, turns quickly and spots it immediately. Not knowing what it is, with it barely poking out of the brush , as the adventurers get closer they start to see that it may be the hilt of a dagger or a sword. When he sees where she's pointing, Kurt moves a few feet ahead of the elf, her own security guard. Taliea comes in to investigate on his left, with Barrend a few steps behind. Theo still bothers Kerzeme on how he learned magic, wondering if he could be one of the 'sorcerors' he teachers mentioned to him, but never didcussed. Theodorre is definetly intrigued.
Suddenly, a loud noise erupts, Kurt turning to Alyanna, yelling, "STOP, back up quickly." and with amazing speed and agility, leaps back closer to Alyanna. As the half orc moves, an entire ten by ten foot section of the ground collapses. Luckily, Kurt heard the supporting branches of the trap snap and break, he realized his folly just as the trap was springing, however, his leap just wasn't far enough. Kurt lands against the hard earth, with a grunt, his whole body in the pit with only his head and arms over the edge. His thickly muscled arms move franticly, as he reaches and grabs at anything to stop his decent. Nothing holds, the half orc is only able to grab handfulls of twigs and leaves, so he slowly alomst comically slides down the side of the pit and landing softly on his feet, without injury. Kurt turns around he sees how lucky he was, as the pit is full of rusted spikes, sticking out of the ground.
OOC: Wow, thanks Cal, but I just needed the search check, and a reflex roll which I would make, and you nailed.
I'm so sorry Ilya, not sure why I thought it was zermere, won't happen again, i hope.
Pit is 10' deep

Alyana turns white as she sees Kurt disappear in the trap. She jumped forward trying to grab him. When she sees that he is safe at the bottom, she let a relief sigh go out. "You go me scared for a second here, Big Guy. Let's see how to get you out of here. I have a rope but I doubt I am strong enugh to pull you up."
She smiles and look at Kerzeme "Do you know of a tree that has rusted spike for roots?"

the pain invigorates the half-orc but his attention is focusd more on his comrades "Beware! do not be diverted by the pit but watch for an ambush."
The rogue takes stock of his situation, initially making an attempt to make sure there is no teasure or anything odd at the bottom of the pit. when he is satisfied, he begins to climb out.

"Kobold?!" the human shouts, turning to the humorous elf, obviously offended. When she tells him she's joking, he does not show any sign of appreciation for her sense of humor. "Like our jester pointed out," he says, "it comes from inside me. I don't need to sit in front of books, all I need to do is want things to happen." He has ignored Kurt's situation for a while, and now comes closer, and looks down into the pit. "They're rusty. Means they have been here for a long time. Unless you can move trough time, maybe by tossing one of your brilliant remarks at it, it's not important to us. In the meantime..." Kerzeme approaches the hole, and, looking down, asks, "Do you need help?"
Don't worry about it, I'm bad with names myself.
