Alyana finishes her prayers and go see the group. Everyone is ready to go back to Oakgrove, upset about being outsmarted about the treasure but feeling god about getting rid of a few orcs and ogres.
She goes see Theo and stands there and smile at the wizard. She opens her mouth and say .... nothing. After a few embarassing seconds, she shrugs, rolls her eyes and give and angered look at Theo before moving.
Good job making yourself looking stupid, sister. You might be unbvreakable but you are still short a few cards of the emotional deck
She will climb the ladder last.

Taliea climbs the ladder after Kurt. Once they reach the top of the canyon, the ranger catches Theo alone when possible and whispers "Only a woman would notice it, but I think Alyana likes you." With a wink she heads to the front of the group scouting ahead of the others.

Before the march home, Theo turns to Alyana as she is about to speak. Once she opens her mouth to begin, Theo waits and waits and waits....she just stands there. He looks at her puzzled, she then gets frustrated and marches off. Theo wonders if he should say something, then the orders from Kurt are barked out loudly and the group quickly jumps and begins the arduous journey back. As they approach the cliff wall with the rope ladder, Theodorre vows that he will learn or at least carry a scroll with the spell levitate on it. He tilts his head back, shading his eyes from the bright early moring sun, looking up the seventy plus feet to the top. As he looks he sees the half orc already at the twenty five foot mark, where there is a small outcropping. Kurt informs the group that the first ladder is nailed down there and a thicker rope ladder runs the length to the top. He quickly turns and grabs the tough rope with his tougher hands and sprints up the ladder. Wanting to get it done and over with, Theodorre grabs the rope and starts climbing the ladder. He switches to the bigger rope and finishes his climb up. "KURT!" Theo yells as he gets close to the top, hoping the half orc will help him the rest of the way over. Everyone is able to climb to the top of the cliff unhindered, everyone except Kerzeme. Being the last one up, and unfortunetly the weakest, his arms give out about thirty feet from the top. He doesn't fret, he orders his magical rope to come out of his pack, as he holds one end, the other snakes its way up the cliff and fastens to the same stakes the ladder is attached to. Once securely fastened, the magical rope just pulls the sorceror the rest of the way up. Finally, out of the canyon, back where there is green trees and grass, and just as Theo is about to iinhale deeply the fresh air, Kurt is there ushering them all back on the trail to Oakridge, seems he is in a hurry. Apparently, Kurt doesn't usually roleplay the trek back to town, but thankfully he is willing to please, or appease, the others. The group marches quickly, at this rate they will be able to get back to Oakridge before sundown. Theodorre's spirits are high, and he has a bounce in his step again as he looks around for any wildlife or beautiful plants to point out. He just knows not to point any of it out to Kurt. Only taking one break for food, water and just a little rest, the group is back on the trail quickly. Just as some start to wonder when they will reach Oakridge, Taliea starts pointing out game trails becoming more frequent. Some of the trails are larger and more worn. The larger ones are very few and far between, and only on the left. It's soon that the group realizes these are the different trails leading back to Oakridge. But they also realize, they don't know which one takes them to The Laughing Jackal. They decide to keep walking. It's still daylight, but the sun is on it's downward arc. Soon the group as a whole starts to smell something good. They were lead to the correct path, lead by their noses. Alyana points out some of the landmarks she remembers, the your hear the faint sound of dags barking and young girls playing. Once you take the last turn on the last path, the noises get louder and the smell gets stronger. Suddenly, the forest opens up before you. The trees stop and there is a low fence running the length of the treeline. As you all leave the confines of the woods, you enter the very back of the yard of the Laughing Jackal. With the past two days of nice warm weather, the mud puddles have dried up, and the grassy patches are bigger and thicker. There are two smoke stacks, on the southern portion of the roof, billowing smoke from the smokehouse. It's then that you see a newly constructed privacy fence, standing a full six feet tall, running from the treeline to the smokehouse and on to the tavern. You wonder why it was built, then you remember how Jake asked not to travel through his backyard. The smokehouse is actually built into the ground, half underground, half on top, with a step of steps leading down to the door. Past the trees, there is a large dog pen, the housing for the three enormous dogs that run loose, playing with the two young girls. Jake is there also, looking your way. He throws his hand in the air, "Ahh, our treasure seekers have returned. What did ye find?"OOC: you have all just exited the woods no more than 25' from the treeline, please post your position, no one past row Qi289.photobucket.com/albums/ll212/achinca/Oakwood.jpgWhy isn't this nuts working for me? ? Thanks Cal. Don't forget, NO ONE is past row Q Cal is at R11
Also, I forgot to add something, I need DC checks. When Jake yells and waves at you, I need to know what everyone does. Because, Those that look at Jake notice one of the window cutains flutters. So If anyone uses a spot check, let me know where your looking, window or what. Of course Theo found some blue birds to watch.
Windows are on 2nd floor of building at squares: A4, A8, A11, A14, A18.
The curtain in window A8 has movement in it.
So any checks you deem needed

Alyana walks in silence, mad at herself for having acted like a fool in front of Theo. She glances a couple of time at the wizard who is too buzy looking at the birds. She starts approaching Taliea a couple of times to ask her female advice but stops each time as she is unsure how to bring the subject. She is afraid that talking to Taliea will force her to tell her what has happened to her and this hurt too much. She arrives back at the inn lost in her thought and makes no special effort to check for anything as she has no reason to suspect foul play. She is the last one to enter the area, going all the way to Q11 if possible.
OOC: Glad you guys like the Alain special map. This is all about helping each other. Cal edit: Cool nice map! I should have spotted the gallic flair!

Puff can we assume that we are NOT going to butcher Jake and his family. nothing seems to point to them provoking us and we do not think we are in danger, we're returning to base after all. unless we really are playing an 'evil' campaign ;D
Give us something to react to or describe what happens. You have access to our character sheets so ask us to roll spot checks or make them for us.
In the absence of something to react to, Kurt keeps walking to the tavern.
is it fair to say that Kurt and Taliae are in the lead (R11, R12) then other characters randomly after them, maybe theo and alyanna together and barendd at the rear? as DM feel free to make this up yourself as we haven't posted a marching order unless of course you expect us to have a Standard Operational Procedure for walking in to a bar?
It's not as if the elves beat us to the treasure and now want to kill us for being second best?
Hope this info helps and that you'll not wait a day for everyone to post
[glow=red,2,300]UPDATE: I will be absent from thursday all day until tuesday evening. Could you RP Kurt for me Achinca?[/glow]

This is the calm before the storm. As Jake yells, most will prob look at him, seeing as how the window is kinda behind Jake, If a curtain moves in the window, some will prob see it with their preripheal vision. I'm just trying to get a feel for what everyone is doing before the red dragon lands in the clearing, hahahaahah btw, monsters aren't the only evil people in the world, dont worry most of the story will come together at the end. Then we'll see if it's an evil campaign. I just wanna knows what everyone is doing where they are looking and stuff

OOC: Cal, I will give my best to give justice to Kurt but I doubt I can do even half a good job as you. OOC2: If everyone is saying where his character is, I can update the map. This includes the DM telling me where the baddies are. OOC3: Alyana does not expect trouble UNLESS Jake or the daughter give a sign (e.g yell hello and using his chest as a cover point to a window). Unless they are in the complot!

"Less than we wanted." Kerzeme shouts in response, clearly frustrated by the fact there was no loot and not making the slightest attempt to conceal it. "They didn't even have anything decent to drink!"
No, but at least one of us wants to kill them for being the first. Preferably with lots of "fwoosh" and "boom".

"We saw pretty scenery, met intrestin' ogres, and killed 'em. Nothing unusual. Know what else we found?" Barrend is too oblivious to notice the curtain flicking, but he keeps his ears open.
Does anyone have ranks in diplomacy? I don't want to ruin the possible interaction, but if nobody else speaks up, Barrend will. He's planning on mentioning Jake's meat the meat that came from Jake's smoker and was found in the ogre's pouch. listen check: 1d20+10=23Sorry I missed so much, I am on spring break this week, decided not to post anything since I wasn't leaving town, and then all of a sudden, I realize a few days have passed.

Taliea is at the front of the group with Kurt. Having not been here before she doesn't know Jake as well as the others do. Her keen eyes scan all around the area, as she takes in the new surroundings without even thinking about it. She looks at Jake as he waves and spots movement above him. She squints, trying to make out more detail (she does this out of curiosity more than suspicion), but absently waves and smiles back as a response.

The group of heroes, treasureless heroes that is, is glad to be back to some civilized lands, Theo is at least. All seems well as they see Jake wave and the girls and dogs playing. But Taliea sees a different look on Jake's face, maybe his brow furrowing a bit or is it that he is looking at Taliea and Barrend, not expecting others to be with this group. As something in a second story window (A8) catches the eye of Taliea, Jake says something sharp and unintelligible, the dogs suddenly jerk up and look at their master. Jake pulls his arm down quickly and points to the heroes, just then a fireball blasts it's way out of that window. As Jake yells another command, the dogs leap into action and rush the heroes. Then someone yanks the curtain free a couple windows down (A14), and two arrows come flying out.
Surprise round: The fireball, burns brightly in the evening sun as it descends upon poor Theodorre. The wizard sees it coming and dives to the ground, but not before it hits him in the side, exploding upon impact. Jake take a few steps backwards, as the large dogs lunge forward and rush towards the group. The two arrows streak down at the group, they both hit Kerzeme, one in the arm the other grazing the same arm. The two young girls have disapeared, Kurt and alyana thought they saw them enter the trees near the dogpen.
Need init, and HP and AC listed Three large dogs, these aren't your mother's lap dogs, think rottweiller or german shepard. Theo: -22 hp Kerzeme: -12 hp
sorry folks I cant get the d**n pic up. Showing my computer illiteracy

Alyanna starts to move toward the inn yelling at Kurt in a strange voice "we need to take out the range fighters inside the inn or they are going to get us like fish in a barrell. Kurt join me inside the inn. Barrend, time to grow and destroy the in nand every thign atached to it. Theo, Kerzeme, take cover fro mthe range fighter behind the smoke house. And do not kill Jake. I am a special surprise for him. I want to be alive as he sees his daugther cook and eat his testicles."
A mad look at taken over Alyana, a craze look that is new even to Kurt. It seems that the betrayal has trigered a new personality, a harsh, cruel one.
HP: 50/50 AC: 19 Spell: 0 5/5; 1 4/4 +1d; 2 4/4 +1d; 3 0/3 +1d
Move: double move: P11-O10-N9=>E9. Avoids the dogs while getting closer to the inn.
OOC: Yet, Alyana secret is out. Due to her ordeal, she has developed a split perosnality. The nice caring Alyana and the harsh and strong Silver Raven. Can a nice guy be the therapy to finally put the Silver Raven to rest? Stay tuned!!!!! OOC2: Alyana speaks in Red, The Silver Raven in Orange
