"They must have had a rope or some other way to climb out of the canyon..." Taliea adds more to herself than anyone else. She goes silent wondering why the elves wouldn't show themselves after helping to kill the last ogre. Perhaps they just didn't want to have to split the treasure with five other people... damnit... "It's getting dark," the half elf announces in her slightly deep voice. "Should we head back to the cave for the night?"

"Perhaps we should leave this foul place and stay in the forest like last night?" Kurt readies himself to leave if the others agree
is the mini adventure over? or do people want to roleplay a wilderness trek to Oakridge?

Chill out Cal, If you want me to hurry up and finish, then it can be finished now. There was actually a little more, but Cal seems in a hurry, someone else can step to the plate then!!! Cal Edit; actually I'm the next person in the DM rota and wanted to know if i had to have something ready now for everyone. ;D My bad! It looked to me that the mini-adventure was over when we killed the ogres and found the treasure gone.Another edit: Close Cal, I just thought I would take ya'll back to Oakridge. I didn't want to end my part in the middle of a canyon.

Alyana good mood slowly dissipates. "Darn! I can believe we got outsmarted of the treasure by my own breathen." She stops and looks at Taliea "I mean OUR own breathen."
"If we have done everything there is to be done here, I say we camp and travel during the day time. But I am not sleeping in that melly cave."
She looks around mumbling "cannot believe we got outplayed like rookies .. at least we killed a we orcs and ogre ..."

Kurt helps set up a watch, taking the MIDDLE WATCH when his darkvision will be most useful.
He sits calmly with his polearm nearby keeping a silent vigil
if there's a vote, I'd prefer as much not to roleplay a wilderness trek back to Oakridge. but i'll go with the will of the other players ;D Yay for democracy!

Alyana will take the watch with Kurt, to be able to discuss in peace and without worrying about being heard.
She sit next to him, playing with her hair. "Kurt, do you think it was an accident we met after, after both believing the other was dead?"
She waits for him to reply, then looking away from him as if ashamed and in a low and broken voice "You know my friend, these goblins did awful things to me, the worst thing a man can do to a woman and even worse. I have been all dry in my heart, just feeling anger the desire to kill goblinoids or the evil races. But recently, I have started to feel a little again and it scares me. What if I get hurt again? What if I get abandoned to my pain again?"
She stops and bites her lips, a face a mix of anger and sadness. She quickly brushes a couple of tears from her cheeks and continues "You know the clueless wizard, Theo? Well I find him funny as he seems in his own world. He seems so innocent. Yet he scares me because of what he might wake up in me. I would face an army of goblins with not a ounce of fear in my mind and I am scared to death to be nice to him. Do you think I am completely damaged good and beyond hope?"

The group walks back past the cave, past the orcs and ogres they killed earlier, back to a spot bare of any dead. They set a small fire and discuss watches. Theodorre decides to take the first watch, while he is already good and awake. Sitting near the fire, eating some of his rations, Theo pets his weasel friend, giving him some of the pieces of meat they got off the large ogre.
"You all did an excellent job today. Everyone is definetly good at their own...umm.. specialty, for lack of a better word. Haha haha!" Theo laughs at himself easily for his lack of vocabulary. "Well done, investigator Taliea." he says with a smile. "And I feel the same, Alyana, it seems the elves outsmarted us or maybe even used us to make it easier for themselves. I can't help but wonder, if Jake lies in this somewhere?"
OOC: Cal, what exactly is it you want to do?

"Yes, well done everyone. I'm certainly glad we met when we did. It has been an honour to fight beside you all." Taliea says that she will take whichever watch is left over once all the others have spoken.
OOC: I say let's play the adventure all the way through to the end. We never know what might happen on the journey back!

The rogue listens to Alyanna's confession. He's moved by her emotion, kindling the poetic desire within the half-orc.
"I can only say that our lives are fated to run together. Life is but a balance of joy and pain. Both can make us stronger but also weaker. It is how we fare against these trials and tribulations that makes the person within.
You are not damaged. You are simply you shaped by our collective encounters. And our being together again means we are stronger like a bundle of sticks instead of one twig. We can overcome more, and rejoice in greater things.
So remember, you are not weak. You are strong and powerful for you have endured more than others would dream of. I am proud of my suffering as others will look and see that they too can achieve and suffer and reach a higher state. And when we stand before our gods, they will judge us and welcome us for being more than mortal, more than the sum of our animal parts.
Be proud. For I am honoured to accompany Alyanna the Unbreakable."
Kurt looks at Theo then returns to his friend. "And maybe you are here for him? Your paths may be destined to cross and you feel fear. But that fright also keeps you wary and helps you avoid complacency because it is your heart that is beating quickly, that internal compass which shall guide you through the very fires of the Nine Hells and through to eternal salvation. Trust your heart for it is who you really are. the beginning and the end, the motion of which defines your life's journey."
The half-orc having spoken softly reaches out and rests his hand on hers and lapses in to silence.
When the fire burns low and time for sleep arrives, Kurt moves off a short distance to meditate before returning after a half-hour to sleep. When he returns he watches over his companions with a brotherly look.
Maybe tomorrow.

Alyana pets Kurt's hand after he speaks. After a long silence she adds "Thank you my friend. Alyana the Unbreakabe. I like that. And that Theo. I don't know. It is just that I feel things I thought I would never feel again and it hurt because it brings back those awful moments. May be it is what they call healing. I never tought I would be scared to death of a bumbling wizard in my group."
When the watch is over she goes into her meidtating trance and after that spends a lot time praying, asking Corellon Larethian for help and guidance.
OOC: I vote for the DM to do what he feels like doing.

In the meantime, Kerzeme has found someone else to talk with: a small, furry spot of black has landed in the light of the fire, revealing that it is a bat, and the two of them are talking in an incomprehensible language.
I added the familiar to the character sheet. It's a bat, and bats are nocturnal, so it only appeared now.

While on watch, Theodorre sits thinking of the day's events. They fought a hard battle against the orcs, those filthy beasts getting many lucky devestating shots in on the group. But then it seems as though they came together quickly and complemented each other, overcoming the orcs and ogres easily. He sighs, I think we've come to the correct conclusion. The elves outsmarted us. He thinks of the mysterious elves he saw in the corner of the tavern, The Laughing Jackal, and how he would have loved to take a peek at the spellbook the one elf was studying.
Theo sits upright and turns swiftly, he didn't hear anything sinister, just an owl as it left it's perch, he wished he could have seen it glide off after it's prey. He turns back and sits back comfortably, determined not to fall alsep this time. He glances at each of his comrades these past couple of days. A shudder runs through the wizard as he looks at Kurt, but he quickly realizes it's just the appearance of the honorable half orc that shakes the spell caster so much, especially the large canines. Sleeping not far off, the preistess, Alyana, definetly in the favor of Corellon. But, in his few interactions with her, she seems to have inner termoil. Hmm, she seems resilient, I'm sure she will overcome any demons she battles, he thinks to himself. He turns his head and looks at the other female, Taliea, a ranger, an investigater. Well maybe not an investigater, but she would make a good one Theo was in agreement with all her findings, but that might not mean much, he thinks to himself with a laugh. He turns and looks at the formidable dwarf and just hopes he doesn't enlarge himself all the time. Great plan against the ogres, but Theo might be a little gun-shy around such a large dwarf. Finally he looks over at Kerzeme, and sighs again. One with so much raw power, can he harness it. Theo thinks of his years of teachings, not only to learn how to draw the magick from the weave but how to manage it also.
Soon he wakes the next person for their watch, and Theo is able to fall into a deep sleep. Rising refreshed, Theodorre greets the others, he looks around the desolate canyon, hoping to be out of it soon. Once the group has eaten, done with any meditations or studying, they pack their gear and start marching northward until they see the hanging rope ladder in the distance.
