OOC: How did Sargus get that far? Did he go by Stadvas and if so, doesn't Stadvas get an AoO?
With Miriam moving in my way and Sargus in my face I can't do the holy water thing Cal
Has the zombie even been hit yet??

"Augustine, Please give me a hand with this one. Lets flank him." The rogue yells to the fighter, thinking it's the best way to kill off the obviously strong foe. With Sargus now away from his undead and his mate, Ryxikor manuevors around the beast, ripping his rapier and his dagger from their sheaths as he moves. He lunges in with his rapier looking for a vital spot.
HP: 15 AC: 16
Move action: Move to E5, unsheath weapons as he moves Standard action: attack with rapier attack: 1d20(11)+6= 17 +2 if augustine flanks=19 damage: 1d6, sneak attack 2d6
OOC: Just my suggestion, in order fr me to get my sneak attack I need someone to flank with. Augustine seems to be the best bet.

Augustine moves to flank with Ryxikor, and attacks Sargus. Attack on Sargus (1d20+6=17)1d8+1 damage It doesn't seem like we are having much luck hitting the zombie through it's normal AC, could I request that Miriam hits it with a cure moderate wounds, if she has any? Hopefully the 2d8+3 (presumably) that that would cause will take off a chunk. We are really not rolling all that well this time, are we?

He can get there and avoid stadvas. You could step 5 and trow the vial. The zombie has been hit once.

Initiative: Augustine, Stadvas, Sargus, Krusis (fascinated 0/2), zombie, Action stopped here, Ryxikor, Odlin, Miriam Ryxikor, facing an enraged Sargus with no room to run away decides to engage the hunting killing machine that is a varag. He swings but Sargus easily avoid the blade. The elf calls Augustine for reinforcement as he positions himself for a flanking attack. (oops. You are right about Sargus getting an AoO from Stadvas. But you cannot get to E5 without getting an AoO which I will not act on it bringing back balance to the Force). Odlin moves behind Augustine, continuing his mastery of the female varag feeble mind. Miriam realizes that the zombie is becoming a big problem and decides to burn her last level 2 spell to do a cure moderate wound on the zombie. The undead body significantly decays but does not go down. Stadvas swings again at the zombie and once again fails at damaging the zombie. He starts wondering why it is so hard to kill something which is already dead. Augustine moves, taking away the flanking for Stadvas and making Odlin lose his cover. He goes flank Sargus with the help of Ryxikor. His hit is good but even with the flanking not good enough to hit the varag. Sargus smiles cruelly at Ryxikor “You will die now, elf scum”. The varag swing his scimitar and hit the elf hard, nearly making a critical hit, missing critical internal organs by millimiters. Luckily for Ryxikor, Sargus misses with the short sword. Krusis is still looking at Odlin, wondering what a half varag, half dwarf boy would look like. The zombie swings and hits again. The mindless creature is now in a pattern rhythm and keeps hacking at the warrior. Ryxikor: -9HP – Currently at 6/15 Stadvas: -7hp – Currently at 11/2
Miriam: Spell: 0 4/4, 1 3/3 + 1; 2 0/2 +1 AC 17 HP 20/20 Nodaisho: Varag are goblinoid type so you get the +1 of favored enemy. Do not forget it. OOC: This is starting to look bad. Time to hit something here. Come on the law of probabilities can turn on you any time now.

Knowing this is likely the last time he will get to swing at the creature before him, Ryxikor yells, "You may kill me, but they're gonna rape your mate!" Then he attacks furiously with rapier and dagger.
HP: 6/15 AC: 16
Full round action: attack Sargus 1st attack (rapier): 1d20(18)+6=24 2nd attack (dagger): 1d20(20)+4=24
OMG, I cant belive those rolls
1st attack confirm crit: 1d20(4)+6=10 2nd attack confirm crit: 1d20(19)+4=23
damage rapier: 1d6 damage silver dagger: 1d4-1 sneak attack: 2d6
I've got some awesome rolls, but still gonna kick the bucket I'm afraid

Augustine swings again at sargus, but barely manages to avoid losing his grip on his sword instead. Attack on Sargus (1d20+6=7)Yeah... law of probability... At least we got a couple sneak attack hits and a crit (albeit on a 1d4-1). This is just horrible, I'm seriously worried that we might end up dead, more than I was facing the dragon.

The target practice dummy that Stadvas has become for the undead makes another try to fight back and again fails. He quickly turns his head and looks at the only possible escape route, the door, before turning back to the zombie.
1d20+7 = 4+7 = 11
AC: 19 Stadvas: -7hp – Currently at 11/29
We really do have a risk of ending this fashionably dead. Maybe we should consider the option of retreat?

OOC: Well if we die, I'll take the blame. I asked Achinca not to wait so long for players to post, its holding the game up (I would bet thats one reason why Lefty is here no longer). I didn't know about his policy on not RPing characters engaged in fights. I counted one post missing from the 1st three posts of this encounter. So All those guys did was stand there or be in total defense. That doesn't help. I've posted every day, Ryx has run around the room fighting the varag, and now my character will prob be the first to die. IMHO, if we die its because of people not posting.

Who says you will all or anyone will die? As far as I know, you are still alive and kicking. I am ready to post for today, waiting a few minutes as Cal post around this time usually. But enough gloom and doom. You guys will be okay if you keep playing smart. Rolling high rolls would may be help but .....

Initiative: Augustine, Stadvas, Sargus, Krusis (fascinated 0/2), zombie, Action stopped here, Ryxikor, Odlin, Miriam Ryxikor, gasping at the hit performed on him by Sargus realizes that he is in a fight to death. This increases his adrenaline level and he performs two hits, the dagger being critical and piercing the Varag kidney on the way. The varag screams and is bleeding profusely but is still standing. It won’t take much to take the monster down but the killing machine is still breathing. Odlin continues his fascination of Krusis keeping the female varag out of the fight. Miriam has a decision to make. Does she go and heal Ryxikor or does she keep damaging the zombie? She feels that Stadvas will start hitting the zombie at one point and Ryxikor is too important of an ally to let him go unconscious. Plus, he is the focus of Sargus which make the varag strategy predictable. She goes next to Ryxikor and gets badly clipped by Sargus as the varag does not miss his attack of opportunity. She puts on her on Ryxikor and the elf wounds partially heal. Augustine swings and his attack is so bad, he nearly hurt himself. Stadvas continues his futile attack of the mass of undead flesh, wondering what it will take for him to finally hit the zombie. Sargus , with hatred in his eyes swings both weapons at the elf. However, the blood covering his hands get in a way and both the scimitar and the short sword miss their target. Krusis is blissly unaware that her mate is getting cut into pieces. The zombie repetitive attacks are now getting better. He clips Stadvas really badly, nearly rending the fighter unconscious. Miriam realizes that healing Stadvas is the next order of priorities. Ryxikor: +8HP of healing – Currently at 14/15 Miriam: -8HP of damages – Currently at 12/20 Stadvas: -9HP if damages – Currently at 2/29
Miriam: Spell: 0 4/4, 1 3/3 + 1; 2 0/2 +1 AC 17 HP 12/20 OOC: Noda, doesn’t Augustine as a wand of CLW? OOC2: Puff: You are SO LUCKY. I rolled 10 and 3. OOC3: The logic behind not playing a character during a fight is to use the emotional bond of the player to his character to have him post daily. If you know your hero will get pummeled without fighting back if you do not post, it will motivate, in my opinion to make sure you get to the site daily.

The elf's eyes light up. He feels almost totally invigorated. Two devastating hits on Sargus, two misses by the creature, and healing from Miriam, which will allow the rogue to stay in the fight. As the priestess lightly touches Ryx, a crooked smile passes across his fine elven features as he sees the remnants of the goo he accidently hit her with. Feeling the tide of the fight with this Varag turn back his way, Ryxikor, lunges again with his rapier and brings his silvered dagger across high hoping to slash open the neck of Sargus.
Round ?? HP: 14/15 AC: 16 Full round action: both attacks on Sargus 1st attack (rapier): 1d20(11)+6 +2 (flanking)= 19 2nd attack (silver dagger): 1d20(10)+4+2 (flanking)=16 rapier: 1d6 sneak attack: 2d6 OOC: Yeah, I know, I got incredible rolls for the most part during this encounter. High for me and even some low ones from Sargus,

An eyebrow arches slightly as the wizard takes in the gory battlefield. Perhaps the quick-tongued rogue will be the first to slay a foe. With both elves flanking Sargus, the tide might swiftly turn. Odlin wonders if Miriam can turn the zombie, causing it to flee and allow Satdvas to focus on the male Varag.
Odlin raises his voice without taking his focus off Krisis, "Miriam, can you do something about the walking dead?"
S: concentrate on Hypnotic Pattern
btw, good work Ryx! If we turn the zombie then we can focus on Sargus?
AC17 vs Sargus, else AC16

Stadvas is too busy struggling to stay focused to care about strategy. With his shield raised and all of his attention on defense, he moves around his undead enemy closer to Myriam and the door.

[glow=red,2,300]I rolled for Augustine just in case (ignore if Noda posts!)[/glow] Augustine fails to connect with Sargus
melee attack d20+6=9 (that's gotta miss) OOC3: The logic behind not playing a character during a fight is to use the emotional bond of the player to his character to have him post daily. If you know your hero will get pummeled without fighting back if you do not post, it will motivate, in my opinion to make sure you get to the site daily. but it also penalises the players that do post daily because the encounter is designed to be overcome by a full party. a much better sanction is a gold/XP penalty
