Stadvas, Augustine and Odlin spend sometimes creating a cairn for the dead goblin. Odlin takes the walking stick and the pouch* for an inspection later.
The group after inspecting the dolmen notice a recent carving in goblin which Jukia translates approximately as [glow=red,2,300]Land ... of Noak .. and Darax[/glow]
Augustine and Jukia wait unsure of the meaning of the carving and waiting for the next step!
*: there was no belt. Just an empty spell component pouch.

Stadvas stares at the carving for some time, and then suggests, "Assuming Noak is, indeed, a self-proclaimed chieftain, this would mean we're about to enter the territory of the Goblin tribe lead by him." He thinks for a moment, and then continues, letting his fantasy roam free, "As for the name... It could be... Nah." The large man breaks off his sentence in the middle, dismissing it as completely ridiculous.
OOC: Sorry about that, I read "Spell component belt" for some reason.

Odlin just wonders.
"If there is a trail, let us follow it master tracker" he asks Augustine
i'm assuming we didn't find a secret cave entrance nearby around the dolmen either, if we havent looked yet, could we do a search of the area please?

Augustine looks around but does not find any secret entrance. He takes his time examining as much a posssible, a slow and excruciating process that seems to drive Jukia nuts but the result of his search is negative. "No secret entrance. I guess we will have to follow the trail." The dead goblin shaman left an obvious trail with his walking stick and Augustine follows it quite easily. After walking for about one hour, deeper in the hillside and the forest, the group notices a well worn path leading up to a cave in the hillside. The opening is about 90 feet away and the closer you get, the more intense the feeling you have of being watched.
OOC: Please do a spot roll for me (or let me know if you take 20) Any movement from now on will need to be specified if it is a hide movement and if done silently. Each will require roll assuming you want to sneak.

Augustine Odlin stops and crouches down to present a smaller outline. Looking about for sentries, he creeps in to any bushes at the side of the road while his heart thumps in his throat.
Spot = 3
DM edit: you mean Odlin not Augustine right? err... yeah! well looks like you passed my clandestine DM testing. well done, keep up the good work! <shuffle>

Odlin, Stadvas and Jukia look closely at the cave entrance from 90 feet away but do not notice anything. Augustine, a much acute observer due to his training, realizes that ten feet deep in the entrance of the case are two goblin sentries. In front of one of them is a guard dog. It seems that they have not noticed the group which is 90 feet away from the entrance of the case.
Use the other thread to discuss strategy if you want. Jukia will walk last, closing the group.

Odlin reluctantly hands over 5 gold and 5 silver coins. He looks forlornly at them before letting them out of his grasp.
He suggests to Augustine that he might catch some game, such as a pigeon or a rabbit. When the ranger has prepared some fresh kills, Odlin instructs the elf to cram their mouths with the coins then sneak out to lay the trap in the trail a fair distance from the cave mouth.
Bloddying the kills will hopefully attract the senses of the guard dog while the rest of the group fan out to set about the goblins (hopefully with subdual attacks) when they come to investigate.
Odlin asks if he can lie on one side with Augustine, while Stadvas and Jukia lie on the the other side of the trail near the trap!
Odlin stays in concealment about 10ft from the trail clutching his club. hide +1 move silently +1

Augustine disappears a returns half hour later with a bloodied dead rabbit.
He leads on the left side of the trail, followed by Odlin. Although they are not very silent, they hide well and it does not seem that they are being seen.
Stadvas and Jukia approach on the left side of the trail and they also are not very quiet but they do hide well.
The group moves 60 feet in the bushes and is now 30 feet from the cavern entrance.
Augustine throws the bloodied rabbit along with the 5GP and 5SP Odlin nicely lended.
The guard dog starts barking immediately, sensing something is different. One guard comes out holding the dog on a short leash. He lets the dog lead him to the rabbit and let him loose 10 feet from the dead animal. When he sees the coins he closes the distance quite fast.
The other guard is standing at the entrance of the cave.

OOC: Blast, man, you posted while I was still busy on my reaction. That happens a lot lately. Must be bad luck.
IC: As a second guard can run back and get help, Stadvas stays put for now. With an asking expression on his face that says enough about the doubts he is having on whether to attack or not, he looks trough the foilage at his companions on the other side of the ambush, as the inventor of the trap is there. Also, he remembers Jukia's reaction on the request to heal the goblin shaman. To prevent her from doing anything rash, like simply storming off, he holds his massive left hand just above her back, between the shoulderblades, to apply pressure if this would be necessary.

Odlin signals to Augustine to take down the guard near the cave with his expert archery.
The dwarf moves forward 5ft so that he is within 25 feet of the cave & waits till Augustine makes his move and together he stands up and casts a blob of spitting acid at the same goblin near the cave.
cast acid splash ranged touch attack +1 (1d3)

Augustine quietly draws an arrow and nocks it to his bow. With one smooth movement, he takes a step out of the bushes, brings the bow to his eye, draws, and releases, sending feathered death out towards the guard in the cave entrance.
M: five foot step towards the cave, out of the bushes S: Point blank shot at the goblin in the cave Point blank shot at goblin in cavern entrance (1d20 + 5=17, 1d8 + 3=4)Sorry, forgot you didn't want us to roll damage. Both rolls include the bonus for point blank shot. Feathered death would be an awesome name for a rock band.

Augustine lets his arrow fly and his feathered death skewers the goblin in the throat. Before the monster can react, a spray of acid hit it in the face and the goblin falls to the ground dying. The other goblin looks at the adventurer in surprise.
End of the surprise round Begining of round 1. Please post action, initiative roll, hit roll (but not damages). HP, AC and spell status. OOC: Good job. I did not expect you to take down the sentry so easily but the dice were in your favor. Let's see if they stay that way.

Seeing the sentry is dead and the fighting has begun, Stadvas removes his hand, gets up, makes a movement forward ((to G-11)) and then attacks possibly the most vicious of their current opponents, the dog, sending the pin-covered ball of his weapon towards the animal's body.
Intiative roll invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1198825Attack roll invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1198836HP: I'm a little confused. I forgot to update it in my sheet, plus the group fought while I wasn't even there, but the last time I found it mentioned literarly it was 5/12. AC: 14 Spells: What spells?

The dwarf fueled by zealous bravado step 'north' and threatens the goblin. With his cudgel he delivers a wild WHACK! hoping to knock the poor sentry out.
I: +1 M: step to F8 or if the Goblin is flat-footed, move to E9 to block his retreat S: club attack +0 melee (1d6) Dodge against Goblin G2 hp: 7 AC: 11 (12 vs G2) F+3 R+3 W+4 Feathered death would be an awesome name for a rock band. yes, yes it would! OOC: Good job. I did not expect you to take down the sentry so easily but the dice were in your favor. Let's see if they stay that way. well hats off to ILYA for the great plan!
