Initiative: Odlin, Augustine, Goblin, Wolf, Stadvas, Kyrian Realizing that he looks mighty appetizing to the goblin and his wolf, Odlin does the most heroic thing he can think off: running away. However, it is difficult for him because of his burly legs and through the dense vegetation. He manages to get to the side of the wagon. Augustine, seeing another of his favored enemy, smiles and unleashes his arrow toward the advancing monster. The arrow strikes true. The goblin lets a scream of pain go as the arrow hit him deeply but he continues his attack. His stride seems to be more agile that you would expect a goblin to be. He moves next to Kyrian and tries to touch her with his flaming hand. However, he is so careful not to get entangled and trying to avoid the poisonous snake around her neck that he cannot make contact. The wolf approaches Kyrian and tries to bite her. She think she can avoid the mighty jaws and teeth but these pesky weeks make her clumsy and the wolf jaw close on her exposed throat. It tears her throat and tries to trip her but the druid stays on her feet. Stadvas tries to use his strength to break through but cannot break from the plants which are keeping him still. Kyrian thinks for a second about casting a spell but she knows that in her current situation, it would be suicidal. She tries to strike at the goblin with her spear but fails to make contact. Kyrian: 7HP damages – Currently 1/8

Coward! shouts the other voice inside his skull, making the dwarf clutch his head as if in pain. The cries of Kyrian fending off the wolf makes him shake. Looking back, his heart sinks at the hopeless seeming spectacle.
He takes a step away but checks himself. Taking a deep breath he screams in his native tongue
"Rof threah dan droah!"
Clutching his club he heads back and unleashes a ray of magical energy at the wolf!

Initiative: Odlin, Augustine, Goblin, Wolf, Stadvas, Kyrian Odlin, in an incredible and unusual display of heroism get closer to the action and after murmuring a few arcane words, sends a ray of energy toward the wolf. The animal tries to shake it but does not succeed. The wolf looks weakened and starts yapping like a pup, looking at his master for help. Augustine shoots another arrow at the goblin. His hate for this enemy is a great motivator and the arrow strike true and penetrates the goblin flesh very deep. The goblin looks at Augustine and at the arrows protruding from his chest. He pulls up the wand from his belt and activate with a magic word. The effort to do so seems to make him pass out but by some miracle, some of his wounds heal slightly. The wolf, feeling very weakened still attack the elf woman standing in front of it. Although with less strength than usual but the biting attack succeed, tearing apart some of Kyrian through. The elvish druid falls to the ground bleeding profusely. Stadvas tries to free himself from the vegetation holding him prisoner but the sight of seeing Kyrian go down sap his strength for this round and his attempt to free himself fails. Kyrian: 4hp damages: Currently -3/8 and dying.End of Round 2

Odlin's mind races. He isn't sure. That goblin healed himself, and might be able to heal his wolf too!
Torn between helping the elf and stopping the goblin, Odlin reckons that the more pressing urgency is to stop further bloodshed.
Taking a deep breath, he steps to the side and unleashes a spitting globe of acid at the evil druid. M: 5ft north to E13 S: cast acid splash at the goblin. +1 ranged touch attack (1d3) F: dodge against the wolf

Initiative: Odlin, Augustine, Goblin, Wolf, Stadvas, Kyrian
Odlin hesitates, not understand where all of this heroic energy is coming from. He tries to fight it but fails. He moves forward and uses magic to send a spray of acid against the goblin. The spray makes contact but the damage done is minimum.
Augustine, his anger against the goblin being fed by the fact that he refuses to die shoots another arrow. His aim is true again and this time the arrow goes through the eye of the goblin. It screams in pain before falling to the ground, shaking a little and then stops moving.
The wolf, seeing his master dead runs away.
Kyrian keeps bleeding. (-4)
Stadvas, suddenly free as the spell expire as his caser died, runs toward the group.
Stern stays silent in the wagon.

Odlin watches the scaled hide of the sea dragon slither out of the underground cave with relief. But what a price! His heart breaks at the sight of his fallen comrade.
Clutching his bow to his bosom he scrambles desperately over the wet slippery rocks. In the dark and gloom, a storm of tears and long sodden red hair blinding him, he can barely make out the body of the broken and bleeding half-elf.
"Kelp! Kelp!" screams the dwarf with released unrequited emotion, cradling the limp body, pressing a palm desperately against the ragged wounds. The half-elf's face is ashen and lifeless as tears and blood mingle in a growing pool.
+1 heal check to stabilise Kyrian.

The dwarf wizard starts muttering some incomprehensible words while trying to attend to the wounded elf. Stadvas and Augustine look at him in surprise and they did not expect him to be a healer. After a failed first attempt, Odlin is able to stop Kyrian from bleeding to death. The group put her delicately on Stern's wagon. The halfling woman is visibly upset by the situation. "What is it with these goblins? They never attacked us before. I wonder what he was doing here. May be waiting to pick up anyone who had survived the ambush."
She looks at the dead goblin. "Are you going to loot him too? He seems to have quite a few magical items."

The mention of treasure galvanises Odlin in to action at the behest of his ancestoral genes.
He methodically seacrhes the druid for the magic wand and any other items of good quality.
we can put the game on hold until stadvas and augustine come back from holiday?

Odlin searches the dead goblin with a laser like precision and find the following:
1 Scroll 1 wand he used to heal himself 1 wand in the backpack 1 hide armor 1 spear 10 PP 10 GP
OOC: Let me know if Odlin know detect or read magic to get an idea of the kind of magic coming from these items.
We are actually at a good break point as the group is about to enter Barrow's Edge. So once Odlin is done with his magic business, we can wait for Stadvas and Augustine to come back.

Wondering if he'll get to encounter any of the walking dead* today, Odlin casts a minor cantrip to investigate the goblins' gear including the equipment from the other raiders.
cast detect magic making sure not to target the NPCs or PCs... privacy is important to Odlin!
*last spell in memory is Disrupt Undead! hope we get to rest!

The wizard, using components from his spell pouch, prononces a few arcane words at the proper space and using the proper intonation. The wands are definitively magical as is the scroll. Nothing else is.
The wand he used himself has a faint conjuration (healing) aura. The wand in the backpack has a faint transmutation aura. The scroll has a faint enchantement aura.
The group continue its progress with a more than freaked Stern at the helm of the wagon. They are on their way to the village and arrive there undisturbed by night fall.
OOC: Cal, thanks for doing the loot threat. At this point, let's wait until we have Stadvas and Augustine back to restart the adventure. (Unless Cal you want to interact with Stern)

When they get into the town, Augustine breaks his hours-long silence, saying: "Well, here we are. Doubt we will run into any more goblins today."

That evening, Odlin ponders over the wands. Realising he is unabe to activate a healing wand he considers if druids and rangers share the same powers.
"Augustine, would care to take a look at this wand? I think it is a healing wand but I can't get the thing to work for me!"
With any spare time during the rest of the evening, Odlin attempts to fathom the other wand.
I'll have to prepare Read Magic in the morning.
are we having a night to rest or do we need to speak to NPCs? I'm a bit worried about our lack of healing, maybe the players might consider forking out for a CLW potion for the next person to collapse?

OOC well you are entering town at sundown. The choice is yours but you can talk to the NPC first and and then rest at the local waterhole. Do not worry about the healing. If no other player join, a local cleric is already to follow you. The adventure will not work with 3 players (translation - I do not want to adjust for 3 players

Odlin marshals the rest of the group and goes to see the owner of the Inn and community spokeswoman, Mallie Marchness. He hands over Zlak's letter of introduction.
"Greetings although your fortunes are not blessed, we hear. We have been asked by your emissary Zlak to provide assistance. His letter explains who we are but I am Odlin the Terramancer. We rescued Stern the merchant on our travels here.
What can you tell us of the situation at Barrows Edge?"
Odlin listens carefully then asks, "Is Sten Goodseller back from her trip? I understand that she might be able to provide some local information about the goblin tribe."
The dwarf also thanks Mailiie for her assistance with Kyrian.
I wonder if the actions of a villager has caused the upset with the goblin tribe?
Odlin looks to see if Maillie hides any information from the group or seems uneasy talking about the villagers.
