Stern comes out of her hiding place. “I am a simple merchant. I went on a trading trips a few weeks ago and we were attacked. I do not understand. We have trading relationships with the goblins. What has happened to them? I have never been in a fight before. This is so scary.’
The halfling moves the elves. “OH no” she screams as she realizes that a couple of them are dead. Then she notices that two are still alive “Please help me. If you help me get them back to the village and protect me while going there, I will reward you.”
“We will need to get the wagon back on its wheel and move forward as soon as possible. I want to reach Barrow’s Edge before nightfall.”

Odlin remains silent but nods his agreement to help the also frightened Stern.

Stadvas, who had been standing by idly after he had helped piling up the corpses, joins the conversation now. "About how much reward are we talking, and what are we expected to protect you from?" The sound of his voice shows the fight has left him in pain, despite the efforts made to heal him.

Looking still very frightened, the woman halfling looks at Satdvas with scaried eyes "I am a humble maerchant from a frontier settlemetn of about 100 souls. I will offer you buy what ever you have to sell at 90% of its retail value and give you a 10% discount on anything you want to buy from my store. In addition, I will give you the equivalent of 100GP of credit to my store."
She swallows hard and add "I was originally afriad of wild beasts but I am worried about more goblins attacks. These were so scary. And to say that I used to trade with them. What a shame, what a shame."

Odlin's ears perk at the mention of gold and he licks his chapped lips feverishly for a few moments. A part of him considers asking Stern if she'll buy the gear off the 4 goblins they killed but fear again grips him.
Odlin smiles weakly, happy to have at least scored a success. Turning to his burly companion he replies, "Yes, this could be the start of better things Caldra. Our luck has changed!"
Achinca, will we be able to meet Stern later to buy and sell items or is this a time limited now offer?
DM Answer: If you make it to Barrow's Edge with Stern in one piece, the offer of discount and good prices will last for as long as Stern runs the store. The 100GP credit will last until it is all used up.

Odlin's companions as well as Stern looks at the dwarf with curious eyes as he seems to have a conversation with an invisible being.
Stern looks at the group with a more desesparate look "So do we have deal? Will you help me? I think the first task is to get the wagon back up."

"yes, I think we have a deal." mutters the dwarf. He looks around as if expecting someone then straightens up to get on with his duties.
If necessary he helps the stronger characters right the wagon and load the dead elves aboard.
As they work, he smiles at Augustine. "How's the bow, eh? Did you like that?"

Augustine smiles at the dwarf but does not answer the question. However, given the fact that the elf ranger felled 2 out of the 3 goblins he despises, a certain air of pride can be expected.
After several effort and thanks to the aid from Odlin, the group is able to get the wagon back on its wheel.
The group put the 2 dead and 2 injured elves in the back of the wagon as well as the weapons and armor collected from the dead goblins.
Stern takes the reins and the group leaves the site of the attack.
I need to know if someone rides with Stern and where the other 3 will be.
OOC: Nodaisho told me it will be out of comission due to family vacations but there is a definite drop of posting from the other players. Please make your best effort to post daily (or tell me if you won't be able to). I don;t expect a masterpiece each time (that is Cal's job) but I start to get paranoid when only me and another player post.

Odlin follows. Uneasy at sitting next to the merchant he walks behind the wagon talking to his weasel and occasionally looking at the corpses before him. They send a shiver down his spine.
In his mind he dreams of a masterwork crossbow, with onyx inlaid parts and a stylised grip.
Soon I might have the gold for that.
Turning to his companion he adds, "If we get a day to rest, I could write up a spiffy scroll I've been working on too!"

Stadvas puts the last of the goblins' armor in the wagon, and then starts taking off his own to store it in his backpack, putting the strange piece of clothing on his upper body in plain view. "Since we're headed there anyway," he says, "I suppose taking you with us would only raise the possible reward." He swings his backpack on his shoulder, and, with a grin, concludes, "So how do we travel?"

Odlin suggests that Augustine rides with stern, his bow ready to protect the wagon, while Stadvas helps lead the convoy. Odlin and Kyrian can help bring up the rear where danger is less likely.

Stadvas leads the wagon with Stern and Augustine in the front while the mysterious snake oriented ranger and the shy dwarf close the march. The group marches without incident for the major part of the trip. They do not see signs of goblins activity or further raiding victims. They enter a dense forest and Stern looks relieved as she tells the adventurers that the hamlet is on the other size of the patch of dense forest.
Every one sense are on high alert but given the lassitude and the tiredness everyone is feeling, they are all surprised when a wild looking goblin breaks from the dense woods and charges toward the back of the wagon, where Odlin and Kyrian are. He holds a spear in one hand while his other hand burns with bright flame. A wand is visible at his belt as well as a scroll case. A backpack is tied to his back. A mangy wolf runs at his side. Before the heroes can react, he starts murmuring some arcane words.
to find out the result of this surprise attack, please post initiative and first action. A map will be coming soon.

The fire! The burning hand of fire!
Odlin stares at the goblin, a kinship in the arcane arts distracting him from the ravenous wolf. Confused the dwarf stands and gapes for a fraction of a moment before his senses come screaming back to him.
Inferring that the wolf is probably an animal companion and that the goblin is casting a spell, Odlin realises the danger they are in with surprising clarity
"Watch out behind! Goblin magician and his wolf!" he shouts as he hustles around the side of the wagon out of sight of the goblin and whatever trick he is about to pull. Sweat visibly beads on his forehead.
I hope they're friendly
init = 18 S: take a 20ft move till putting the wagon between myself and the goblin
if this is not a surprise round and i get a full round of actions, i want to RUN (up to 80ft) so that i am instead just in front of the wagon and away from the bad man and his savage doggie.

Before anyone can react to Odlin words of warming, the goblin finishes his incantation and the grass and vegetation around the adventurers start growing and entangle them. The horse, the wagon, Stadvas and Kyrian are all grabbed by the plants. Stern dives into her wagon, screaming in total fear. Augustine, turns around and aims at the goblin. Kyrian and Stadvas tries to move but cannot. Odlin is able to move but the evil eyes of the druid and the wolf are focusing on him.
Round 1 of combat to start If you are entangled, I need a strength or escape artist roll each round you are within the area.

Heart pounding. Breath choking in his throat. Vision swimming in a sea of adrenaline.
Odlin battles with himself to regain his composure. Heading in to the bushes, he finds it hard to run. He crashes through the branches and ferns hoping that the vegetation will conceal him.
F: Hustle (40ft) = F12(5ft) > G13(5ft) > H14 (20ft) > I14 (10ft) I'm assuming it costs double to move through bushes?
DM Answer: Correct
