What I'd like to know is: how is this caster knowing where to place the flaming sphere? How can he/she see the room? The caster is a the bottom of the stairs full of cultists. All they have to say is right straigth or left and he can move it. Talon asked me earlier a similar question.

But the pace of this game is so inconsistant, one round takes a week, the next round takes a day. I thought we would have time to discuss this. Posting is also inconsistent. How many posts were added to this thread in the last 24 hours? Sorry I wasn't more clear on this post. It will cost us a lot. Given that we have people in 3 different countries (London, Belgium, US) and several time zones, we try to be flexible. I would love to have a post a day but it does not always happen. We are all busy professionals (or students). This can be frustrating but it is the nature of the game. I try to keep a certain rythmn and will RP a character but I do not like to play more than one per round. If I have 4 posters or 3 and one poster told me his character will do nothing, I will generate a post. One thing I know is that discussion generate interests that generates more discussions i.e. posts. SO let's keep the OOC thread going !

Padre needs to move behind me and keep me from being flanked... Kerraur needs to fall back as well... I am am going to hold my action till we figure out what to do here.. all I can think of at this point is Kerraur and Padre fall back and Dra'gen stays in front of them, but that means Dra'gen is about to take a beating...
ideas?

Is anyone capable of producing water? We need to get rid of this fire

Talon, you shouldn't worry about being flanked, i don't think it will happen. Plus you prob have more HP than anyone in the game, including the enemy. Plus there are two healers, Padre and Sirali near you, they will take care of you.
Codeslinger, I've been preaching about posts forever, doesn't do any good. I guess the one I hate is when players continually log in but will let days, or even a week or two, go by before posting, I don't understand it, it really slows the game down.
Oh well my post is in, that's what he'll do no matter what

Let's try to understand the ennemies strategy here.
1) Once they were alerted that trouble was occuring in the tower and intruders were in, they converge on the 3rd floor 2) The access to the third floor was blocked by a strong warrior which seems more powerful that the rank and file soldiers. 3) Thus magick was used to open the access to the third floor. 4) Once the access to the 3rd floor was open, cultists are flowing in 5) the arcanists are sendign the soldiers before entering the 3rd floor.
The issue here is that we are in danger of being swamped. None of these fighting guys are an issue but a bunch of them are (like zombies in a movie). I am afraid that dropping would allow more cultists in.
At the same time, we have a powerful enlarged spell that Kerraur could launch to thin out the herd. This I believe is the key to rebalance the fight.
One this that we cannot really afford is character who could act not do anything.
AC
PS: Producing water would be nice but Padre did not ask for that specific spell.

ok.. Code, have Valandir come up to take Kerraurs place at I30, Dra'gen is going to pull Padre back and take his place in the fire. Kerraur needs to fall back to J28 and either get healed or cast something at the Sentry in front of Ryx to help him out, at least there he will be protected. Padre and Sirali need to stay behind Dra'gen and Valandir and try to keep us healed. Hate to use them just for heal but the fighters and Ryx will prolly take alot of damage... Dra'gen will definitely be taking alot standing in the fire

What do you think of the above idea Puff and Code? At any rate, Dra'gen is going to pull Padre back and step in... Once the Sentry in front of Ryx is eliminated if Ryx could advance to close the gap, I think we can get through these guys

I'm fine with that, but I don't see how this will stop them from continuing to spill into the room.

I wonder what the mechanics are of all of us (as a group) pushing on the guards in an effort to push them down the stairs... Even if we take some damage it might be worth it.

Valandir can produce water but I don't think the flaming sphere will be affected if Valandir pees on it...

The mechanics would probably be Bull Rush... though I don't think you can Bull Rush multiple enemies.

I think your right about bull rushing multiple enemies Ilya... Code, I keep mentioning water because flaming sphere can be extinguished by any normal means of extinguishing a normal flame

Regarding the bull rush, I read the online rules and I believe that you cannot bull rush multiples ennemies. What would happen if you succeed is that the ennemy would be prone in the space behind him, which would be occupied by an ennemy. Regarding the water, if we had time, we could all circle the flame and try to extinguish it peeing on it. On course, we would not ask for Sirali to squat. After this comic interlude, we are going back to our regularly scheduled program.
