Sure, I knew Cal wanted us to jump, It's just not in Theo's character to jump, when he knows the outcome is his death. I'm hoping Cal does more, i.e. finishes this adventure, Theo is sweating profusely, "It's hot in here!"

I'm hoping Cal does more, i.e. finishes this adventure, Just to be clear; i had a complete mini-adventure written out. The PLAYERS took the short-cut! it's like the parable of the good samaritan (for all your christians out there)... you can take the quick and easy path and cross to the other side of the road or you can take the more difficult option and go help the poor guy and take care of him. IMHO the DM shouldn't force the players to go a certain way

Just to be clear, if any DM or the DM has an NPC tell the players or characters that if they do something they will surely die. Theo isnt doing it. If you want me to play Theo like Kurt then just tell me how I should play him. Next time don't tell me: "If your character jumps there is no other way out, they will be doomed" Theo is not Kurt. Theo is no Martyr. So maybe you don't want to push all Kurt's good qualities on the rest of us and let us play our characters like we want. Otherwise I'll change Theo's whole background to make him an honorbound badass hero, instead of my bumbling wizard, just tell me what to do...................

I'm all for giving players options, but if one of the options leads to "certain" death and the other leads to the end of the game what's the point? Both outcomes should lead to adventures of one sort or another.

'Pig kissing contest"? Veeery *cough cough*funny. I'll probably be ready to throw our characters into suffering and pain by the middle of next week... Between the catching up, the work that I would have to do next week anyway and lots of bed rest that's optimistic.
As for the ending... Well, it just once again shows that good things happen to bad people.
