Initiative: Augustine, Stadvas, Odlin, Jukia, Bronk
Augustine swings at Bronk but failed to connect. However his insult is a bull eyes as Bronk yells back obscenities to Augustine in Goblin.
Stadvas slides to the east and strikes the bugbear true. The great flail avoids the shield and slashes across the neck of the bugbear. The monster stops, grabs his throat and trying to prevent his life to flow through the wounds. IT tries to speak but nothing come out. It sees the blood covering his armor before falling to the ground with a big “Thump”. Once it is on the floor, the Big Bronk stops moving and a puddle of blood cover the dirt floor.
OCC: Great strategic work. The dice really helped you (having Brink roll a 1 for initiative and I rolled 9 and 11 for damages!!!!)
XP to follow soon

Stadvas' expression shows he almost regrets the victory. "I don't think he will be much of an information source..." the gambler mumbles, staring down at his defeated adversary sprawled on the floor. Then, he lets his gaze travel around the room. "So... what now?" Stadvas notices the blood nearly reaches his shoes and takes a step back. "By the way, watch out... bloody trails all over their den could make gbolin we wouldn't meet otherways suspicious."

Odlin nods his head at Stadvas in agreement. "Good point. Let's close the door now. Cheese can act as sentry for now."
Empathically let Cheese know that his Master expects danger and to be wary.
Shall we search the body and in the ancient traditions of RPGs not bother about blood trails? Remember the hints that the shield is magical! (Woo!)

"Well, I would guess that this was either their leader or some sort of pet. Judging by the quality of his armor, I would go with leader. I don't know how to find this out without directly confronting the goblins however, and I would not want to do that unless both of our spellcasters were fully rested and prepared, and even then I would worry about our odds if there were many of them. Whatever we do, however, I propose taking his armor and shield, they ought to fetch a pretty penny with craftsmanship like that."

Jukia is a little nervous as the dead bugbear lies at her feet.
"I understand your concerns about the spell caster but I am worried that then the guard get replaced, they found their comrades dead and would them be waiting for us. I know that goblins are coward in small numbers and not very disciplined but still. However, I am not a fighter or an adventuress, so I will follow your decision."
Stadvas takes a look at the bugbear leather armor and notice it is of masterwork quality. The shield does feel a little different to him but it cannot say for sure it is magical. And there is the "Big Bronk" message written on it.
Jukia finds a pouch with 16sp on the bed.
Cheese is out there, getting bored as no goblins are coming and no one is feeding him Emmental or Gruyere.
OOC: LEt me know if you decide to continue deeper rest here, rest back into town or any other options I did not think off.
OOC2: XP have been posted

Odlin didn't answer Augustine straight away. He unslung his pack, letting the gore-flecked haversack slide slowly to the floor to rest against a wall. The dwarf wiped his brow and sat cross-legged next to his pack, rummaging within to retrieve the aleskin and take a measure. The wizard was obviously thinking deeply or perhaps raptured within one of his fantasies.
He spoke to the room in general.
"Well I see it like this." He tucked the aleskin back in to his pack as he talked. "There's only four of us against a whole tribe. We came here for answers but haven't found them yet. So like the bride of a fop, our goals are unfulfilled.
At least we are all alive. I'm a little battered, but I think everyone else is fine.
We've got arms and ammunition in plenty, including some oil for a fiery surprise.
Magic we're short on. Jukia doesn't have any fancy tricks left and I'm the same although I have one big enchantment left that could provide a back door to a hasty retreat. We have the healing wand, so let's not underestimate that.
I think that sums up our little fellowship quite nicely. All we need now are some halflings then."
Odlin coughs and looks at the door. "Aye, we won't be long! Just be on guard!" he murmurs.
"Well our options are to stay here. Barricade ourselves against a whole tribe with our limited provisions. Suicide if you ask me.
Or we can go back to town with our tails between our legs. I reckon Jukia has some fast talking or some smile flashing to do then. Coming back will be a task if they're ready and waiting.
But we can press on. Doubt we'll get far but we can at least find out a little more. Maybe bully them in to behaving now that their big fella is out of the picture. If things get messy we can run then but perhaps we could still accomplish something."
The wizard looks at every member of the group. "I'd like to tell you all to press on, if only for a little while, and flee at any significant resistance. There's a curtain I'm curious to pull back! Maybe there's an effigy or clue there.
But I understand that's not what everyone wants. Better that than staying here. But if we have to flee later, there's loot we found that's now been hid that we could miss out on.
Let's vote if that's how you like your supper but if we're pressing on i'd thank the good lady cleric to touch me with her orisons first."
Odlin remains seated on the ground, idly admiring the craftsmanship of bronk's armour.

Odlin stops looking at the armour and starts. "We have searched the room fully, haven't we? I think you're right Augustine, Bronk is some sort of commander, maybe not the chieftain but he should have a secret stash or perhaps another way out of here?" if we haven't fully searched the area, can i Suggest I guard the door and the others do a thorough search?

Augustine searches around the room while saying, "Right... If we take his head, it would be easier than dragging his whole body around, and would still prove that we killed him, for the intimidation factor. I would be fine with checking the rooms we didn't go into before, you may be right, there may be something there." Search check (1d20=11)

" We have his shield," Stadvas says, shaking his head, " Which is recognizeable and probably good enough for intimidation, although we can try..." Carelessly, the human continues the search around the room. After a few seconds, he adds, " I think we should continue the search." invisiblecastle.com/find.py?id=1320623

The group searches for anything they can find in Bronk's room. There are no valuable other that the silver pieces Jukia found. IT seems that all his fortune went into the shield.
The group is about to give up when suddenly Odlin notices a small indentation on the northern wall which does not look natural. He looks more closely and notice a secret door.
Augustine checks and does not find traps. After fiddling around, the group finally opens the door. A tunnel, which seems not to have been used in a long time is staring at them.
XP Posted for creative solution to the problem at hand. Good job guys!

Odlin gasps!
"You think the others know about this way?"
The mage feels uncomfortable with Cheese out in the corridor. "Well if we are decided then let's get going. Let me fetch Cheese."
The wizard opens the plain door and ushers the weasel in to his robe pocket. Once ready, he takes the party's torch and assumes his place in the marching order.
Odlin goes 3rd? I'll bow to the decision of whomever wants to go first as I'll accept any position except 1st!
DM EDIT: MArching order as a standing order is: Augustine, Stadvas, Odlin, Jukia.

Before going into the tunnel, Augustine asks, "Are we going to check the curtain, or should we just go in here?" If the group agrees to go into the secret door, he will go 40 feet ahead of everyone else when possible, but will wait up at corners, so there is always a line of sight between him and Stadavas. OOC: I will post after the group decides if they go up the secret tunnel or go check the curtain room or the two stone doors room.

Odlin nods at Augustine's wisdom.
"You're right. I doubt this tunnel has been used much so the odds are that they dont know about it. We can always come back later to explore it.
Once we leave, there is a chance that whatever is behind the curtain is going to be moved or whatever.
Let's leave this secret passage, close up the door and go back to the earlier parts of the complex. But remember, if the situation looks grim, then we run instead of fighting."
Odlin votes to go check out the curtain. He glances at Jukia and wonders if she has any healing orisons left up her sleeve.
