The group follows Urrtarr back to the goblins lair. They go north on the main tunnel and see the common room (where the secret passage from Bronk room landed). It is full of goblins commoner, the mothers holding their children tight and the fathers holding wooden sticks, just in case. They all seem very frightened by the heroes. Some children start screaming and crying in fear as they see the group. Urrtarr leads them to the room to the north, which was the elite hobgoblins room. " If you go down the stairs you will enter Darax room. It is a square cavern, about 20 by 20. It leads to Noak’s lair. I have never been to her lair so I cannot describe it for you. I will be in my study (room to the right) waiting for you to come back. Remember our deal. Darax must be alive. I have seen your healer magic at work so I know that if you kill him, it will be by choice.”She goes to her room and the heroes can hear her says “ May Maglubyet protect us from Noak and these invaders”.
OOC: XP added for striking the deal with Urrtarr. More will come after I see how you keep your end of the deal. ;D

A swell of white noise pounds momentarily in Odlin's ears as he imagines the dragon's lair beyond the steps. He nods honourably to Urrtarr. The irony that he has made a pact with a goblin is not lost to him but the wizard sees the bigger picture. The fingers in his hand cramp briefly and he clenches his fist to get the feeling back in to his digits The needs of the many outweight the needs of the one
What a whirwind. Only hours agi he had been fighting elite hobgoblin soldiers. A little dwarven freak, a wizard outcast among his own people. Now he had allied himself with his clan's enemies and a couple of hours later descending in to the jaws of a dragon. If they told tales of this adventure, would it be glorious or ridiculous?
Odlin heard his uncle sneering behind his shoulder. "Runt! Worthless runt! At least you can't kill your family twice! Pah!"
With a twitch he shut out the voice.
"Let's go" he tells the group.
When he is out of ear shot he sidles next to Bretnor. "Keep a cure minor wounds handy in case you need to stabilise Darax. We've to keep him alive but the bargain didn't say in what condition. We don't want to be caught in the middle of any power struggles once Noak is gone."
He motions to the group to huddle for a moment "Any volunteers to head in first and ambush Darax when the rest of us charge in?"

Stadvas' only response to the dwarf's question is a glance at their rogue companion. "Remind me, why are we doing this again?" It could easily be a joke, but Stadvas' tone does not show any attempt to put humour in his words. He is completely serious, and trying to decide if this is all really worth the risk. That thought brings a smirk to his lips. "Never mind... Let's go, with Kord." The risk itself is worth the risk.

Following Urrtarr through the goblinoid caverns, a cold chill runs up the spine of Ryxikor. Glancing about nervously, waiting for an ambush. After a few moments of seeing how the goblins were frightened, the lithe rogue's tension eases somewhat, a light bounce returning to his step. Ryx listens to the female and glances down the stairs, Ugh, down into the deep deep darkness. Who knows what else lurks down there?.Suddenly the the last lingering words almost break through the elf's thoughts, almost. He barely hears the word 'volunteer' and feels the look from Stadvas. He doesn't take his eyes off the passage downward, still thinking, What lies in wait for us down there in league with a black dragon?.Without returning either word or look, the elf, without looking away from the stairwell, reaches down to his boot and pulls free his beautiful silver stiletto from its well crafted sheath. After a sudden thought, the rogue realizes something, he deftly reaches back into his backpack and pulls forth a bag, a plain brown leather bag, tied off with a thin leather cord. Clutching the dagger in his right hand and the leather bag in his left, Ryx knows what he has to do, "Give me a thirty or forty count before you come down.", he says over his shoulder, just before slowly silently slipping down into the still darkness.

Odlin nods at the elf, admiring the youngster's bravery. He silently passes Ryx another missile. "You'll have better aim than I"
Once he is half-way through the count, he lights a torch and holds it ready, thinking it could serve as a club in the right situation. He throws a glance backwwards to where Urrtarr would be before he sets off with the others.
puff, have a some alchemist fire x 1

The group hesitates a little wondering if they are walking into a trap or if Urrtarr stroke a true deal. They did sense that she was seen as a mother figure as she walked through the goblin tribe. Children looked up to her and she calmed a couple just by caressing their heads. Odlin advises Brettnor to save a cure minor wounds spell. The young cleric shakes his head. “ All I have is a cure light wound. And the wand. And I can stabilize a dying person. Trust me, I do not want to face the wrath of a scorned woman. And I want to get out of here as quickly as possible.” Odlin gives Ryxikor an alchemist fire as the elf is going down the stairs. The group stays behind and after a thirty count start going down. Stadvas is first, followed by Augustine, Odlin and finally Brettnor. Ryxikor goes down the stair trying to stay hidden and does a good job doing it but he is much less careful in term of being silent. He reaches the bottom of the stairs and sees a 20 by 20 square room. He steps in silently but does not do a good job hiding. At the last second he sees an arrow fly and finally see the huge Hobgoblin. His reflexes are good but not good enough as the arrow enters deep in his shoulder. Darax yells in goblin “ Die, you miserable and unworthy invaders”. In addition to his long bow, Darax has a beautiful battle axe at his side. Here is what Darax look likes. Ryxikor: -3hp of damages – Currently at 7/10
OOC: if your character engages Darax, I will need initiative rolls.

Ryxikor winces as he realizes he isn't being as quiet as he has before. The young excitable elf calms himself, steadies his breathing and slowly lowers each foot to the next step. Once he reaches the bottom step, he is surprised by the sudden impact of the hobgoblin's arrow, sharp pain racing through his shoulder. Startled, that the ruse was up so quickly, the elf's large almond shaped eyes seem even larger. "GET DOWN HERE!" Ryx yells to his companions, as he begins to move. The elf launches himself towards the table in a burst of speed covering two steps. As he gets close to the table, Ryx lowers himself by bending his knees slightly, allowing him to softly drop both the dagger and the bag on the ground and to help him get leverage for his next move. With his back towards the wall, he reaches out wide with his right hand on the side of the table and grabs the length-side corner with his left hand. With his momentum, he drives up with his legs and hips, and pushes hard with his right hand. With his left, he pushes up but immediately pulls to the left and down trying to over turn the table.
rd 1 init: 1d20(18)+3=21 HP: 7/10 AC: 16, +cover? Free action: 5' step north K16, beside table, dropping bag and dagger close to the corner of the room Full round action: Flip table over for cover, I'm thinking the right side of the table would land about northwest corner of square K16 (with the legs of the table pointing to the northeast corner of the room), so the Ryx could duck down behind it.

Odlin worries that the hobgoblin might escape and warn Noak. When he enters the room he tries to suggest to the others to draw the reature closer then move behind it.
move supporting the fighters, aid another to give them a "BONUS to AC"

Exclaiming "That's our cue.", and losing valuable seconds doing so, Stadvas rushes down the stairs as fast as his heavy suit of armour allows him. Once in the room, he finds his opponent with his eyes, runs toward him and, in the same movement, he draws and swings his flail around the hobgoblin's weapon in an attempt to pull it out of his hands. This attempt comes with the simple, nearly calm request, "Give me that."

Moving down the stairs and into the southeastern corner of the room, Augustine looses an arrow at Darax, trying to miss anywhere that would cause fatal injury. Murphy intervenes, however, and the arrow almost skewers the hobgoblin through the vitals, only being knocked slightly off-course by the armor, saving everyone's life. Initiative (1d20 + 3=18)Attack on Darax (1d20 + 7=27)confirm on Darax (1d20 + 7=12)Damage 1d8 + 3 That had the potential to be very bad, glad that didn't confirm, the way Achinca has been rolling, I might have killed him.

Initiative: Ryxikor, Augustine, Darax, Stadvas, Odlin, Brettnor Ryxikor, not wanting to become a pin cushion slides near the table and flip it, hiding behind, getting additional cover as crouch behind it. Augustine goes down and unleashes one of his deadly arrows. The arrow strikes true and if it weren’t for a last minute reflex from Darax, could have been deadly. Darax yells in pain and anger, insulting Ryxikor manhood for hiding behind a table and calling for a real warrior to face, all of this in goblin. He drops his bow and pick up his axe, yelling for a real opponent, delaying his attack. Stadvas approaches trying to disarm the hobgoblin. This gives an attack of opportunity for the goblin which barely misses the fighter. Unfortunately for Stadvas, his disarm attempt fails. Darax laughs, happy to have someone he can have a good fight with and strike his axe. Stadvas easily stops the swing with his axe. “ Fight like a real man, human! Go for the kill” Odlin goes down the stairs and go stands next to Stadvas, hoping to confuse Darax. Brettnor stops at the entrance and unleashes a bolt. It bounces off Darax’ armor.
OOC: Stadvas got lucky as I rolled low on Darax attacks twice (Rolled a 20 on the disarm). If I rolled and confirmed that critical, it would have been trouble for the party. OOC2: No is right. Once again, my damages roll were high.

Augustine looses another arrow over Odlin towards the hobgoblin, careful not to hit his allies. Attack on Darax (1d20 + 7=22)Damage: 1d8 + 3 Didn't subtract any penalties for shooting into melee (once I hit 3, I really need to take precise shot).

Stadvas tosses a glance at Augustine, but makes another attempt at finishing this fight without bringing Darax dangerously close to death. He swings his weapon down, towards the hobgoblin's legs, in attempt to make him fall. Stadvas expects the goblinoid to be more inclined to cooperate on the ground. The strike is followed by one short step back, away from Darax. While performing all of this, he finds the time to ask his brothers in arms, "Someone try to talk to him please!"
HP: 21/21 AC: 17
Full-round action: trip on Darax. 1d20+5=23 Free action: 5-ft step to 15J

Odlin isn't sure what's going on. The voices and the confusion of battle glisten across his eyes like a swamp mist threatning to draw him in to peril.
Something in the taunts brings out the ire in the dwarf
Not knowing what he's doing he jumps forward and grabs Darax, or tries to. At the last minute, a glimmer of sanity wakes up and asks "What in Moradin's name are you doing, crazy fool!"
F: side step to K13 so augustine has a clear shot S: after an attack of opportunity, attempt to grapple
AC16 versus Darax hp 13 melee TOUCH to start grapple (assuming that the AoO did no damage) = 1 (auto miss!) think we'll stop it there... ;D
