A genuine smile illumintes Mallie sad face "Given her history and the situation, I think this is the last thing she needs. Jukia, Jukia come back."
The cleric still crying stops and turns around "WHAT?"
Mallie looks down at her feet and says "Well Zlak is still not back, so no one is at the temple. As everyone is inside my inn listening to the adventurers, it would be easy for someone who has called the temple home for years to slide in and slide out in the morning, unnoticed. I know that my eyesight is worsening and I swear I saw you disappear toward the road." She winks at the cleric and enters her inn.

Odlin is happy to get a translation of the scroll from the elder. He writes a salient summary on a piece of paper for the others.
Finding a quiet moment with stadvas and augustine, the dwarf explains that Jukia is one of them now, one of their adventuring family. The dwarf suggests that they go with the cleric. If she is not welcome in Barrows Edge then they cannot stay there either, although there is nothing preventing them from communicating with Maillie.
"Let's rest after our exertions.
Tomorrow we can get this mundane gear* to Stern and see what she'll give for it. We can keep the fancy stuff and I'll use my powers determine if any are magical."
*found in upper guardroom 4 small sizes of each leather armor, morningstar, light wooden shield and 3 javelins. a pair of matching pewter dishes once had water in one and dog food in the other.

Odlin reads the notes he took from the translation of the shaman scrolls found in his room "I hate the day the black dragon arrived. The dragon has led the tribe away from the holy path of Maglubiyet and even eats us when she feels like it. She forces us to steal and even kill people we have made peace a long time ago. I leave now on a holy journey. Maglubiyet guides me and will show me how to return the tribe to the true path. I need to make sure the dragon does not see me leave or she will kill me with her acid."
The villagers are visibly very concerned about the situation. The group can hear people starting to murmur "A dragon? A black dragon in the neighborhood? How will we cope? We got to do something .... someone got to do something ...."
OOC: XP coming for solving the mystery of why the goblin tribe became aggressive. You will likely all level up so send me the changes when you do. You need to tell me where you want to spend the night. I will provide you with the proceed of your sale to Stern.

Stadvas's light false, wooden smirk he has been wearing all this time turns into a genuine smile. Playing around with Mallie, he answers, "Horrible thing she had to leave, really." before turning back to the cleric herself with still the same smile, and tries to cheer her up. "Well, at least we have a temporary solution." As the mention of selling things comes, he gets the waterskin he has found out of his bag after digging a few seconds. "Maybe we can fetch a few coins for this, too."
The mention of a dragon makes his face go serious for a moment, and he says, "We've solved a mystery and created a problem. Great."

"Dragons." Augustine's face contains a mix of disbelief and disgust. "Dragons. What are we supposed to do to a dragon? We killed a bugbear, but I have a feeling that we got incredibly lucky in that fight, we can't count on something like that happening again. But until that dragon is dead, the goblins will continue to be hostile, and our job will not be done. If anyone here has a miracle hidden on their person, this is the time for it."

Odlin reminds the group about the goblin shaman that they found near the tribe, all burnt up. The dragon's acid breath the likely murder weapon.
Odlin is happy to stay at the temple with Jukia and the others, or if they have to split up, he would prefer that they all slept under the stars.
(in secret to the others) "Looks like we're hunting dragons. But if we kill too many goblins, that could make them wage war on the villagers. I think the wyrm is our goal."

"Sounds good, but I have to ask: how? A dragon would kill us before we had even a chance to kill him, maybe if we could trick him into getting a giant rock dropped on him, but we can't rely on a dragon's idiocy."

As the adventurers join Jukia in the temple, she looks at them with incredulous eyes "Well, I hope you don't think that I will ....." she turns real red .... "service you. I am not a friend with benefits, I am not a tramp, regardless of what people think in this hammlet." When she realizes that the adventurers consider her like one of their own, she has trouble containing her tears of joy. "Thank you, thank you so much. You are the first people who judge me for what I do, not for what other people said I have done."
When the discussion of the dragon occurs, Jukia hesitates before saying "there is a greeding mystic in the village. He might have some advices but he will charge for it. He could also identify how many charges are left in the wand, for a fee, unfortunately. I also believe that some of the goblins are probably against the black dragons but are porbably afraid to speak up because they will end like the shaman. I am sure some appreiciate the opportunity to be crual and evil but I believe there must be some goblins who will be willing may be not to help us but look the other way."

"If you ask me, the only chance we have at something that though is to catch it asleep... If dragons do sleep, that is. Perhaps we could get some venom..." Jukia's suggestion gets the following response. "The problem is telling the goblins what we want to do without catching the attention of all goblins at once. We can't write them a letter. And, about that mystic..." Stadvas' mouth curls into a slight grin. "...how does he feel about gambling? I could get his services for free."

Jukia smiles at Stadvas comments "Well, I do not say we write them a letter but we should not go back in thinking that every goblin will be looking to attack us. I thinkwe cna parlay a few into helping us one way or another. Regarding the mystic, he think he has a better intellect than anyone else, so I bet he will be willing to gamble with you, just to prove he is smarter than you. And if you lose, he will not be cheap!!"

Odlin waits sheepishly before piping up. "I know a little about dragons" he cringes at the very utterance of those syllables. Looking quickly from face to face he hurriedly adds, "we don't need to storm the caverns and slaughter everyone. Remember we found that secret door? Surely our next step is to gather intelligence, find out about the dragon's lair, what kind of hold it has on the tribe. Even, as Jukia suggests, find some common allies and maybe make a stand against the wyrm on our own terms at a later date.
If we choose the ground, we will have an upperhand. I know it's risky but the alternative is to run away with our tail between our legs like failures. I don't know about you but I'm getting used to being on the winning team for a change with gold in my purse and food on the table..."
The wizard seems eager to visit the mystic and hear his price.
addendum.... if Odlin gets a chance, he'd like to spend time scribing a first level spell "Silent image" and if there are enough components and time, he'd also like to make a scroll of "hold portal" also he asks Jukia if she can pray to her god to ask for the power to make a weapon magical, in case that is needed in their next encounter. there could be more powerful undead this time

Stars twinkle in Stadvas' eyes. "Then let's go and see what he proposes. As for the idea of sneaking in and seeing how we can make the battle on our conditions, I think that's our best bet. How are we planning to get the message to the goblins, by the way?"

Odlin shrugs "Maybe we grab one and get it through his thick skull one way or the other. Maybe he can subvert the others to at least not stand in our way when we tackle the others.
Honestly... I don't know. Something will come up... perhaps an angle we can use. It won't hurt much to go looking... and i've a new magicks at my disposal that could help."

"Grabbing one would be easier if it wasn't able to yell, we could get a couple saps, sneak up behind it and knock it over the head, when it comes to we can talk with it." With half his mind, Augustine is working on plans for killing a dragon, all of which end up having requirements such as an immovable place to stand, an arrow that is a hundred feet long and functions as a lightning rod, or hundreds of rats fastened to sticks wielded by kittens.

The group rests in the temple and in the morning everyone feels refreshed and ready to go. Jukia indicates that she will stay hidden in the temple. The group decides to go see the "mystic". The group approaches a small one-story building, painted bright purple with gold stars spangling the exterior. A sign above the door reads "Mysticality". Heavy purple drapes cover the windows. The group enters the shop and a soft chime sounds as the door opens. Shadowy illuminations provided by a few candles softly lights the inside of the shop. The smell of Lilac incense hangs heavy in the air. The main room has only one table and 3 chairs. An male elf appears through the beaded archway that leads to private quarters. He is wearing brightly colored clothes and is decked with numerous scarves, charms and trinkets. He smiles all knowingly. "You come with questions. I, Thamior The Magnificent, search for answers. One gold piece will give you a glimpse of the future"
