Hey, here's an opportunity for amusement, sentimentality, or whatever it is you want:
What was the first character you made for D&D? Can you remember what the adventure was about? Were there any particularly funny/sad/silly/etc moments?
My first character was an elven druid. The group was exploring the Silver Princess module. Probably the one part I remember best was the ending of the campaign. The party (by that point) was made up of an elven wizard, a dwarven barbarian, a halfling rogue, a human monk, a half-elf rogue, and myself, the druid. We were running out of time, and so we voted to just have a 'battle royale' to go out with a bang.
The high points that were hilarious: I managed to off the dwarf with about four shots with a long bow (both legs, a chest shot, and the throat); our two rogues had been constantly trying to one-up each other and prove who was the better sneak. Ironically in trying to kill each other, they died at the same time on one another's blades.

My first character was a human cleric of Hel (AD&D) with an evil alignment. I was such a best that they did the famous belt of gender chainging trick on me and he became a she. The DM let me reroll one characteristic (Straight 3 d6) and I chose CHA and got a really high number. After that my georgous female evil cleric became so much fun to play, using her assets to get inside men bed to kill them at the best moment. She died after our group, who was led by an anti-paladin decided to attack a lair of evil dwarves. Other party members escape but my poor cleric took the wrong turn and go over run and massacred by dwarves. The thing that hurt the much was that during the entire fight, they kept telling her how ugly she was.
I mourned her for a while and did not play DnD for a few weeks.
Tacha-Tica was her name and she was my first character. She rests in peace next to Hel.

This will probably come as no surprise to most people, but my first character was an elven fighter. Haha. Lucky me for picking something that I really enjoyed playing. I remember looking at the swords, running my finger down the pictures... Short Sword... no Long Sword... not big enough Bastard Sword... getting there Great Sword... ah! That's more like it!
The party that I joined didn't have a fighter, and I managed to kill a couple of enemies with one swipe of my Great Sword. The DM was like, "Hmm, I'm going to have come up with some more powerful enemies..." and I was like, "I like this game!"
For the record her name was Lia. I joined the game half-way through, and I don't remember too much about the story, just we were collecting "disc stones" of some description... Everyone thought it was really funny to imagine an elven woman weilding a Great Sword. ;D

I can't remember what the first one was that I made, but the first one that I played was a githzerai (sp) psychic warrior, the DM had even less of an idea of the rules than I did, and while I currently am no rules guru (I leave that to cal), I am a lot better than I was then, and the only other guy hadn't even begun to read the rulebook. The DM randomly picked monsters out of the manual, and made us roll a d20 for pretty much everything, including picking stuff up off the ground. I at one point rolled a natural one when picking up a warhammer, stumbled, and hit my head on the wall for 1d4 nonlethal. Never mind that the wall was ten feet away... Or the time that I tried to open the door, rolled a natural one, and a rock fell from the top of the building that we were outside of and hit me on the head for 1d4 nonlethal. I had a bad run of rolls, but we did beat a mind flayer as three 2nd level characters.
