was wondering if people still get time to play around a table nowadays? we're soldiering on in Scotland. The Redgully hereos are just about to grab level 8 and one of them already has died and been resurrected - he hates trolls so much that he came back and took a level of ranger! (only one death if you ignore the grimlock massacre and the harpy bloodbath TPK encounters i sort of fudged... ) Some weeks they carve their way nicely through the bad guys although a Hellcat manage to get a couple of people to -8 or -9 hp a few weeks ago. Last night was hilarious as the fighter managed to get swallowed by a Tendriculus ... two and a half times in the same encounter. anyone else have any fond memories from recent tabletop games? (oh in other news... one of the glasgow RPG groups thought my KoT moondog adventure was so scary, one player had bad dreams for 4 days)

Yes, I'm still 'tabletopping' (that's a verb now? ) My brother is the DM and I'm playing a warmage. At one point we entered a wizard's castle and my warmage decided to wander over and admire the staffs mounted on the wall, which then promptly turned into serpents. Oops No-one's died yet, but we got close once or twice, I think I got to -8 or thereabouts...

Aye I do, when the chance presents itself. I stopped a while back when there seemed a shortage of players though, so my days are mostly net-based. (When I'm not working on more evil ideas, heh heh)
One fond story was a campaign we managed to reach epic in. My character was a human wizard/shifter named Cor Lapidis (3 brownie points if you get the joke). The storyline eventually plunged the party into Ravenloft, where some interesting accidents happened...
Cor was flitting about as a hummingbird by our bard, and the ranger and rogue were standing off by themselves. The rogue challenged the ranger: "I bet you 5gp you can't hit that hummingbird." So of course the ranger starts chucking rocks, trying to hit Cor(me). After several times dodging, Cor grew angry enough (and believe me, a peeved hummingbird is hilarious to look at) to do something about it. She shifted into a red dragon, leaned down, and snapped up the ranger. Suffice it to say the ranger lost the bet. --- A few characters later (sadly you do tend to face character deaths, especially when the DM springs Return to the Tomb of Horrors on you) we were slowly working our way into the tomb complex. After many harrowing pitfalls and crazy attempts to break the code, we made it to the chamber.
We very nearly made it too -- no one had triggered anything, and it looked that we would not only get out alive but finish with some great loot. Until our other wizard (rogue's replacement) decided to do some spell casting....
Wiz: "I cast fireball." DM: "Are you sure you want to do that? It's a 10x10 room." Wiz: "I don't care what size the room is, I said I cast fireball!"
Not only did he land some nasty burns to our party, but he woke up the demi-lich Acererak in the process. My character had the lovely privilege to be the last to die due to being in raven form (apparently it didn't register that I was a caster at first). Nobody really forgave him for that one. It was the last time we went exploring in an ancient tomb as well...

It's been a few years since I haven't tabletopped ( ;D). Life has its low and high, and while I could give a few full saturdays of playing in the lows, I know it couldn't continue for too long.
I sometimes ask my girlfriend if she wouldn't play, but she's afraid of the huge quantity of rules to learn...

I don't play table top anymore. I did some DMing for my kids but he had trouble getting a consistant group. I do miss it, especially the caramaderie. Right now I get my kicks from the net.
