Ryxikor looks at the natural cave and uses his elf sense to feel is there is a secret door but he does not sense any. The room is empty and very damp. A few muddy puddles are on the ground. Brettnor shares with Odlin his fear of the situation. They seem trapped in the goblin lair and this is a new experience for the young cleric. Odlin, of all people, finds the words to give courage to the young man. It seems that Odlin the coward is becoming Odlin the brave. Stadvas and Augustine get their bows ready at the door. The group keeps the door slightly open to keep a watch of what is happening. At the north end of the tunnel, Odlin, with his darkvision, notices figures waiting for them. Each one is holding javelin, morningstar or sword. He describes what he sees to Augustine who thinks that they are most likely goblins and hobgoblins. They seem to be waiting for the group to come out to attack them with javelin. Currently, no one can hit anyone with range weapons.
OOC: This is my last post before March 27. Think of a strategy on how you are going to get out of there.

Looking down, Ryxikor just shakes his head, realizing what he has done with his carelessness. He quickly drops down to the ground on his hands and knees, looking up at the underneath of the table, trying to discern how easily it could be taken off and be used to cover the caltrop-covered floor. After telling the others of his plan with the table top, he looks over at the flasks, "Great range weapons could be the flask of acid, of course I would like to keep one for those most stubborn of locks," he says with a sly grin, "and also wrapping the flasks of oil and lighting them before throwing, that could be devestating if one of them gets burned, of course again, I would like to keep one flask for those pesky squeeky door-hinges we may encounter." He says smiling.
Then after asking for the help of Stadvas, they grab the dead cook and drag him to the door. Once they, with the help of any others that want, have the corpse propped by the door, they slowly open the door and lean the head out as if someone was peeking out the door, to see what kind of response they get.

Ryxikor, with the help of Brettnor takes the dead goblin and opens the door. He prompts the dead cook and moves him in the 5 feet corridor. He hears the ennemies saying in goblins "you are doomed. Surrender now and you might live, as slaves. Someone needs to do the job of the stupid bad cook you just killed."

Looking at Ryx, "What they say, anything positive" Looking around for somewhere to position himself. Wielding his mace Brettnor prepares himself to face the goblins if they havent fooled for the trick

Ryxikor pulls the body of the dead goblin back in the door and deposits in the southeastern corner (F4) of the room. After moving back to the closed door and leaning against the wall, the elf finally speaks"It seems they would like us to stay for a bit and be their chefs. Didn't really think they would like elven cuisine, but it's a thought." The elf quickly tears a sack of grain and wraps a stip of the burlap sack around a flask of oil. He holds up his 'weapon', looking at it with appreciation, then looks to the others.
"If we're gonna use the top of this table for a 'bridge' to cross over the caltrops with, lets begin taking it apart. Also, if it works well, I believe I saw more long planks being used as shelves in the storage room the cook was in."

Odlin isn't sure if the funny new man has made a joke. "I wouldn't put it past them. they dont like elves but don't worry. i'm not going to let them eat you!"
The mage whispers his plans to the group "We need to get to but we'll need a strong rearguard to protect our escape. The table will be handy."
The wizard chews on his cheek absentmindedly then hunkers down to sketch out a plan in the dirt.
"We're here [stabs the ground] and they are there [stab] and here are the pointy caltrops [stab][point][stab]" The wizard pauses as he thinks. "Stadvas and Brettnor, you shove that table on its side. I'll yank the door open then you slide it out across the corridor. We can stand behind it and fight the goblin. Brettnor and I will grab the table's legs and carefully pull it southwards to (H6-7). Stadvas you just keep your flail handy to bash anyone who gets too close. Augustine and Ryxikor, you'll be on artillery duty. Don't think me and Brettnor will be able to budge the table far at a time but once we get to the crossroads there are no more caltrops and by going slowly we should be okay.
and remember! we're not trying to take them down - just keeping them at bay till we escape so no heroics! we're fighting defensively. Once we get to ground we can fight evenly on, then we let them have it!"
The dwarf looks up hopefully, looking at his companions for signs of approval. Odlin pets cheese who senses his master's anxiety.

Approving of the idea Brettnor puts his mace away looking at Stradvas, "so we get the lifting duty then". Move to E4 to get ready to hold the table up. "We using this as shield or walkway as we can use the shelfs to walk on"Looking at Rxy, knowing he has repeated his idea.

Augustine nods, and whispers "Right. Ryxikor, lets split up the flasks evenly, hit them with those as quick as we can. I doubt they will be able to make complex tactical decisions while burning."
Do the rules say how long it takes to light the fuse on a pint of oil? I don't see it, but I might be looking in the wrong spot. Does favored enemy apply to rolls made when you hit an enemy with acid? It isn't called a weapon, so I don't know.

After Ryxikor gives an example of his dry humor, the group listens to Odlin’s plan. The dwarf, shedding his coward reputation comes up with a solution for the group to get out. Odlin opens the door and Stadvas and Brettnor push the table across the halfway. A lot of obscenities are hurled in goblin and Ryxikor’s ears turn red at the various allusions to the group members’ mother, sisters and grandmothers. It is a good thing Jukia is not there to hear these things. Ryxikor is the first one out of the room going south slowly to avoid hurting himself on the caldrops. Then Stadvas and Augustine follow, ready to strike anything that will come following. Finally Brettnor and Odlin leave the room and get ready to pull the table. The enemy finally understands the plan and throws a couple of javelin that bounces off the table.
OOC: Table give you +4 covers which becomes +8 if you crouch behind it. OOC2: Great RP and idea to get out of that trap. XP to follow.

Before he leaves the room, Augustine gathers up as many of the valuables as he can, though he is going to dump the heavier stuff if the fighting gets bad. He considers the acid flasks and asks "Throw?" in a low voice, keeping the best cover he can as he moves backwards with the group.
I am not quite sure I understand how cover works, are you allowed to pop up for a second to attack and then go back into cover? Do you take just the half cover for the full round if you do that?
HP = 13/15 AC = 24 while ducking behind the table.

"Hehe hehe, hehe hehe!" As the elf carefully picks his way through the scattered caltrops he can be heard giggling, while he carries a tindertwig and a cloth-wrapped flask of oil, wanting to light it and toss it over the table. He holds off lighting and throwing it for now but maybe in a second, he thinks to himself.
HP: 10 AC: 24
Carefully moves as far south as possible.
Noda, I have one flask of acid and one flask of oil in my back pack, I am also carrying one cloth-wrapped flask of oil ready to light and throw. I think that leaves one flask of acid and three flasks of oil left.

Keeping Low beneath the table and making sure not to get hit by the Goblins, Brettnor keeps pulling on the table, the slow tedious work will be beneficial so brettnor keeps his stress at being close to the goblins quiet. Knowing he is working with clever people Brettnor does feel braver than he was when he first entered.
Looking at Ryx gleamin eyes he can see that he is upto something. "I hope, whatever you do works" "Come on lets pull this table Odin, get to the crossroads,"
Stopping to take a breath Brettnor keeps looking down on the floor to make sure he doesnt hurt himself.
hp 17/17 ac 17 if not crouched 25 while crouched

Stadvas' spine forms a large arch as he crouches behind the table with a grim smile, both at the escape and at his teammate's joke. His flail, held ready in his right hand, slides over the ground, leaving a clear trail trough the caltrops, a trail that is swept away seconds after his passing by his teammates, picking their way trough the caltrops as well. He moves in silence, turning his head from floor to table and back, checking if the goblins decide to follow them.
HP 17/21 AC (while crouching) 17+8=25.

The group pulls the table back, clearing the caldrops at the same time. A lot of insults in goblins follow, all of then questioning the group manhood and making sick allusions to the group female relatives. A couple of javelins arethrown and ends up spiking themselves in the table, but nothing else is done by the ennemies.
The group pulls back the table to the end of the southern corridor (H6-7). At this point they can keep going south and exit through the main entrance. They can go west toward the old moradin temple and howling cave entrance. They can go east through Big Bronk room. Or pull the table and go north and fight the ennemies. Or a fifth option I have not thought off.
OOC: Welcome back Ilya and Candrom
